“We engaged Edwina Goody to be the celebrant at our wedding celebration in July 2024. We were recommended her services, when a local celebrant that we knew of, was unavailable.
My now wife contacted Edwina and it was clear straight away that she was a caring, thoughtful and efficient person and got on well with Sandy.
Because she was a little far away, (Norfolk and us in Orpington), we agreed to meet halfway for a lunch in an Essex village. We got on very well and Edwina asked a lot of questions, gaining material for her part in the celebration. She then sent us a questionnaire asking things like how we met, what we liked about each other etc, which we dutifully answered.
Edwina then came up with a draft version of what she proposed saying for us and the ‘order of service, inviting us to vary the script to suit our needs.
We had another meeting via a video link, as we were on holiday, when Edwina read through the proposed words.
We did change the script a little to make the ‘service’ a little shorter and more to the point. Sandy was very worried that this would upset Edwina, but it did not, she said that she was there to do our ceremony exactly as we wanted, which was great.
Edwina prepared sheets to help Sandy with her ring-words and vows and helped her a lot.
She travelled down to the area of the celebration the night before, so as not to risk traffic hold-ups on the morning, at her own expense, and offered to help with the arrangements on the morning of the wedding.
Edwina’s presentation was great, without a microphone, everyone heard and laughed at all the right places.
