A quick recap from yesterday's fundraiser car show. Cumulatively we raised over $1700 for the Rural Fire Brigade with over $200 being raised by Hot Rod Promotions and on the day. Thanks to everyone that came out, it really was a warm fuzzy way to start the Australia Day long weekend.

Shots (pun intended) from last Sunday’s Gold Coast food and wine festival. While we were there, and I checked out the stall. A great line of spirits their Brisbane gin was the stand out for me. The finger lime and ginger make for a bite. If you like yours a bit more traditional the Sydney gin was great with tonic. @ Food and Wine Expo

In the interests of doing our bit to give back to fire affected communities and the flame fighting heroes across the nation, Hot Rod Promotions are co-hosting this event on Saturday the 25th of January (day before Australia Day).
Come down get an cheap service, grab a beer and a bit of barbecue, win some prizes and know that all the money earned on the day is going to a great cause.

Plenty of local businesses are throwing in time and resources to try and give back to those doing it tough, so get in the spirit and get on down!

Todays spotto: the Chev on Chevron. Pretty tough looking pickup I would guess is a 79 vintage. Had to stop and grab a picture. I can really appreciate the owners attempt to go green and neutralise any exhaust carbon at the source (see picture 3) #1979 @ Chevron Island

Cool little spotto down at . I’m no JDM expert but I owned a coaster in my teens and I’d guess this HiAce is about a ‘75 model. Anyway, happy Sunday every-buddy, I’m off to taproom for a schooner - $2 from every lager and pale ale goes to the so there’s really no easier way to show your support.

Went for a little run down to the Black Hops to show a client through some beverage options for an upcoming booking, a free service we are happy to provide for all of our clients. Needless to say our first business meeting for the year was the best kind of fact finding mission.
The staff at Black Hops and their awesome little taproom make sure it is always a pleasure and a quick bite courtesty of was a fantastic Friday lunch. Cheers you truly are local legends.

Quick little throwback to a roadside breakfast I enjoyed while travelling through Hokkaido, Japan. For anyone who hasn’t been you would be astounded how good the supermarket and convenience store cuisine really is. This amazingly fresh salmon sashimi and beer combo set me back about $4 AUD and was integral preparation for the train ride ahead of me. learn from this.

So Zen has snuck off to Japan for the annual Mooneyes Rod and Custom show and a bit of a ‘pre-Christmas-crazy’ relax. Obviously the first port of call was a beer vending machine featuring . What a country!
