At the beginning of July, we visited American Wilderness Botanicals "Healing Barn" where we met and interviewed Sioux Chef, Sean Sherman, Co-Founder of NATIFS Dana Noelle Thompson, and Native Nutritionist Valerie Segrest. At the event, there were presentations and a panel that addressed the progressions of the food sovereignty movement across Native country. The boarding school era, commodity food implementations, the genocides, and traumas, which are still alive and well today, were also topics that were addressed at this event. I was morally pleased and impressed with the work that is being done by these wonderful educators. In my gratitude for being welcomed at this event, I put this short video together for the owner of American Wilderness Botanicals whose name is Ben Scott Clark. Thank you Ben and Maureen Molinari for sponsoring an important learning event!
