It is always surprising to me that on our travels, we so often come across a wedding party, here a bride and groom were taking pictures in a square off Seville’s Réal Alcazar or Royal Palace.

Guests were asked to wear Halloween costumes or Canadian tuxedos, so as the officiant, it was about getting my own vibe going.

Giving thanks to the many couples who this season have entrusted me with their ceremony and gifted me with a front row seat as they share promises and dreams.

Ending on a high note with beer cheers to the grooms who curated this elegant evening wedding!

A lovely fall elopement for a pair of former high school sweethearts, with my favourite witness along for the ride and doing double duty as the ring guy.
Post wedding, we took advantage of the sunshine to hike the Lighthouse Trail in the gorgeous fall light.

Did you know that there are thirteen signatures in every wedding ceremony? And just to be sure, I count every time.
"Thank you again for a beautiful ceremony. We've had nothing but compliments and we had an amazing time. All the preparations you helped us with made us feel so comfortable and we had a ceremony filled with so much love." F&Z

You’ve heard of Flower Girls, well in this wedding, we went a few generations better with the four Flower Grandmas who rocked their mobility aids and scattered petals, to Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

The A Frame, French River

While this couple chose an elopement wedding, their family was present in so many ways, from the Bride’s Great-Grandparent’s table on which we signed using the pen her parents used 40 years ago on their own wedding day, to a set of mother and son charms that the Groom’s mother had given him to tuck into his pocket for the ceremony.

Lodge at Pine Cove, French River

This family wedding had a guest list that spanned a century of ages, from Grandmothers who are 92 (Joan) and 102 (Margaret) to a clutch of babies 4, 6 and 15 months respectively. Appropriately their reading spoke to that generational span:
I see our kitchen which will be the heart of the home,
And a Victorian bath brimming with foam.
I see muddy wellies by the front door,
And the kids eating cookies and asking for more.

For wedding officiants, “other duties as assigned” usually refers to wedding guests, most of whom are absolutely lovely as was a guest today from Stuttgart, Germany and a long-distance trucker just back from Boston, and occasionally there is a guest situation that just has to be managed so that we can get this wedding started.

In a beautiful ode to fathers, today's bride walked with her Step-Dad from the house to this tree where her Dad was waiting, and then walked with her Dad to and up the aisle.
"Caroline Hallsworth was very patient with us. She helped us pick out our reading and vows. She was extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable! She helped to make the day perfect with the perfect length ceremony and addressing all our guests. She also went out of her way on a rainy Friday evening to go through a rehearsal with us so that everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing on the big day! Also, the All Seasons website was easy to use and user friendly and very straight forward. Not only will I be recommending All Seasons but also our lovely Caroline! August 2024" A&S
