The food scene in Bali was absolutely incredible. Throughout this exploration to discover a completely different culture on the other side of the WORLD, we picked up some interesting tid bits about restaurants, eating and etiquette.
๐ฅ Allow plenty of time: Dining is a leisurely experience, so donโt go if youโre in a hurry.
๐ฅ Flagging down a server: Never point upward to get a waiterโs attention
๐ฅ Sitting etiquette: Avoid crossing your legs, particularly with an ankle resting on your knee
๐ฅ Tipping: Tips are not expected. A 10% service charge is included in every bill
๐ Verifying your charge: take the time to check the bill so they can enter it manually with no mistakes.
๐งโ๐ณ Food service: Dishes are served as soon as theyโre ready, so enjoy them while theyโre hot.
๐ฑ Vegetarians: ask if they can make the dish you want for your diet, they likely can.
๐ฆ Allergies & Restrictions: They are very considerate as to how to keep you comfortable and feeling your best so they ask every order.
๐ฅ Leaving food: Always leave a small amount of food on your plate. Itโs a sign of respect and considered an offering.
๐ง Always ask about the water. You want to avoid Bali belly at all costs.
