KEBAP HOUSE is the musical journey of Onur & Güray, two sound addicts from Turkey who bumped into each other on the streets of Barcelona. They offer an eclectic and freestyle electronic music journey dedicated to the Orient, mixing and editing kebab laden traditional dance tunes of Middle East with freaky disco, acid, ambient techno and deep house delights. KEBAP HOUSE is the unique experience of
a trippy disco folk ritual full of surprises, love and kebap spirit; and lots of bass, joy and dance! KEBAP HOUSE is a collective founded by two PhD students, active musicians and activists from Turkey who bumped into each other on the streets of Barcelona. The main focus of KEBAP HOUSE is to organize and promote multidisciplinary cultural events, art & music performances, workshops, food and craft beer related to Turkey and other “Closer East” countries, with a special focus on music. KEBAP HOUSE has been organizing parties and events in collaboration with ZULA BREWING COLLECTIVE in Barcelona’s independent parties, clubs and art spaces and is a collaborator of the GLOVE PARTY. CLOSER EAST FESTIVAL
KEBAP HOUSE is curating an international festival with the title “CLOSER EAST”. The first event of the festival took place on 19th December in MUTUO with 25 participating artists and more than 300 guests under the title “CLOSER EAST: BARCELONA MEETS ISTANBUL”. The goal CLOSER EAST FESTIVAL is cultural exchange and solidarity between Barcelona, Istanbul and other cities of “Closer East” such as Beirut, Cairo, Jerusalem, Damascus, Tehran, Nicosia, Yerevan, Baghdad and Amman.
