We are thrilled to unveil the new Official logo. Our inspiration came from Ewe symbols, specifically the education and knowledge we gained from Adenya, .symbols , an Ewe content creator and advocate for the representation and inclusion of Ewe symbols.

After careful consideration, we chose to incorporate the Suklikpe symbol, representing happiness, and the lɔlɔ̃ Sako symbol, symbolizing Commitment .

The Suklikpe symbolizes our collective desire to provide you with sweet and unconditional services on your most joyous day. It also represents our genuine wishes for happiness to fill your marital home. Your happiness is our highest priority, and we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction, as well as receiving your referrals and recommendations.

lɔlɔ̃ Sako symbolizes our commitment to providing you with authentic Ewe values during ceremonial events. It represents our sincere hope and prayers that as you choose to engage our services, you will also commit to strengthening your union or marriage, surpassing life’s challenges together.

These two symbols perfectly communicate our values and beliefs at Ewe Weddings & Events Ghana. By incorporating our desiwo, we are actively contributing to the education, promotion, and preservation of our Ewe heritage. We are proud to have achieved our set targets here at Ewe Weddings Ghana.

A female representative of the Groom’s family and a female Representative of the Bride , together they perform this rite for the new bride 👰🏾,

in OUR culture this is our way of saying welcome to our family , take a seat because you are here to stay !!

I have already done numerous educations on the symbolism of this rites in my previous post so kindly refer to those for better clarity, if you still have questions feel free to DM me or ask in the comments section . Akpe na mi .

A recap

Part 1: Our couple, Etɔ (groom) and Ɛɖɛm (bride) made sure their wedding reflected the Eʋe (Ewe) culture well, by creating a traditional Ewe wedding ceremony that included a number of Ʋɛdome and Aŋlɔ wedding rituals.
Guests were welcomed with the Misɛ̃go dance, and you can see the stool they got from us- As an Anlo bride, Edem wanted a different stool design and opted for vintage.
Throughout the event, only Ewe ensembles played, they spoke Ewe throughout and offered traditional Voltarian cuisine in local bowls. Aside akplɛ, abolo, yakeyake, and fetridetsi, their guests also tried other local foods and drinks. A custom kente was woven by for the couple, and the gown of the bride was designed by , an Ewe.

With us, we give you the opportunity to celebrate your wedding the Ewe way.

My Conversations with Akpene 👥

From Akpene 🗣

I am Ewevi , I come from Anloga

I join your page some months ago , that was where I learnt soo much about projecting our Ewe culture

So, I opted to have my Kete woven by an Ewe who understood making the patterns to represent Ewe.

I also wanted the names of the dowry items written in our language

I was asked to give my father any drink of my preferred choice from ( the dowry ) , kneel before him and tell him ask him to bless my marriage and re-iterate all my wishes

Thank you for creating the page, I keep learning

Did inspire you in any way ? How and why ?

HRM, Torgbui Korsi Nego VI , the Manklalo (Dutor) of Mepe Traditional Area, in his royal dance communicates to his people.

I could not interpret all but the few I could interpret from the hand gestures were ,

Let’s all live peacefully
You are all my children
I hold you , all my children dearly in my heart ,
Speak the truth always, be obedient, etc.
HRM only performs this ceremonial dance during grand durbar day such as this one ,the afenorto Festival.

The people mepe traditional always respond joyously to what he says through his dance .

Today I pat myself on the back 😇,

i feel like I have achieved one of my objectives as an advocate for the preservation , appreciation, promotion and education of Ewe culture.

One of my objectives was to gain the admiration, respect and appreciation for Ewe culture not just within our Ewe community but from other ethnicity so much so that they will want Ewe cultural display at their events just like how we Ewe also admire other ethnic cultural displays.

Well my brothers and Sisters , today , that goal was realized, We got booked by Pure Akan clients to come perform Ewe culture and a little bit of Adowa or Kete all that way in Takoradi. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳✊🏿
I provided them with their traditional Stool in white and in the Love symbol ( Akoma in Akan) and the Dowry bearers/ culture performance by my amazing team
you can find on Instagram and those who already know her can attest to her hard work projecting Ewe culture.

We are gradually and rapidly gaining the recognition ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳.

We truly praise👏🏾 the good work Ghana Museum is doing. But we believe our Eʋe culture also got a lot that deserves to be preserved and educated to the public.

12/07/2022

I have come once again to tease our aesthetic abilities. It is about the uncommon KETE CLOTH. 15 or more years ago, the design below is one of the common designs in the Agbozume market. My family and some selected families were not left out when it comes to drawing in Kete clothes. I was introduced to a type of Kete in the late 80s to 90s called WƆGAGBA. Nevertheless, one thing that stood out then was drawing in Kete(Kente). Having been trained on how to draw in Kete, I have since drawn objects in Kete for a period of 15years until I entered Senior Secondary School in 2003.

The design I have below is called ATATOE with AƉANU(drawing/Art). It was the name I was told. To revive the lost Ewe Kete especially those from Agbozume, I used the computer to reproduce the one below. Yes, what I have below is computer work. The good news is that it is something I know too well. If you want something like this let me know.

Lest I forget, there is something that has become common a norm. People who couldn't draw while weaving resolved to use embroidery to stitch patterns on an already woven Kete/Kente.

It is worth noting that any Kete/Kente with embroidery loses that traditional appeal of Kete/Kente.

To be specific, I can draw in Kete/Kente. If you want that traditional feel of Kente without any contemporary/modern influence, contact me the CEO of Kente Weavers' Arena. The number to call is 0244671947.

Getting Married in Ghana 🇬🇭, means adopting , respecting and accepting each other’s Cultures and Traditions. No matter how different our Cultural background is , once married especially if Inter ethnic marriages you become one with each other’s cultures.

Does that mean every aspect of your spouse’s culture or traditions must be upheld by you ?

Join me at 6pm today as I share with you a submission from one of our sisters , On a sensitive topic in Akan culture.

In order to have an open conversation tag an Akan friend or brother or sisters who may be able to shed more light on the topic to join us in the comments section of tonight’s discussion.

Your thoughts 💭 and submissions are warmly welcome.

PART 1 of 3

🇬🇭 I am strong advocate for Êʋê Culture, I believe in the preservation of the good, beneficial and positive aspects of Êʋê culture. I learn from the bad side to help me become a better person of my heritage. And I want to encourage you to do that same.

🇬🇭 It is important for Us Êʋês not to associate negative thoughts to our own Culture.

🇬🇭 I offer event consultancy services to Clients who are looking to have a culturally appropriate Êʋê Ceremony ranging from birthday, weddings, funeral, naming ceremonies parties etc .

🇬🇭 And it is amazing how the negative stereotypes labeled against our Heritage or culture influences the mindset of our own Kinfolk.

🇬🇭 On few a occasions it has been brought to my attention that the Misego cultural performance was presumed to be “juju” related dance , but it is not.

🇬🇭 Therefore, this post is to enlighten everyone else, those I am not able to personally enlighten on the historical background of the dance , hopefully will see this general post and get some clarity.

🇬🇭 I am calling on you to kindly share and repost to everywhere to help spread the education regarding it so that those who don’t know can know and those who are being swayed into believing their own culture is not “nice” or is too “juju looking “ can get some clarity by knowing their history behind the dance.

🇬🇭 Tag a friend to tag 🏷 a friend to tag 🏷 a friend, and drop a in the comment section 👇🙌 ❤️

Ps: credit to for the write used in the postcard , and credit to for beautifully displaying our culture with her cultural troupe.
