Peony season is short, but oh-so-sweet! If you want the most stunning peonies at your event, set the date in June! We can usually get peonies beyond June, but the variety, quality, and price will be less than ideal.

Very few flowers are edible and even fewer are free from chemicals.

When using real flowers to adorn a cake, it's always a good idea to wipe down any part of the flower that could touch the food, if possible. Then wrap the stems in cling wrap (or similar that is food-safe) to prevent any contamination into the cake.

It's very difficult to know what kind of journey a flower has been on before it gets into our hands, so being cautious is always a good idea.

Even if grown organically, critters and natural fertilizer can leave behind traces of things humans should not ingest.

Preservation of flowers will soon become one of our new offerings! It's been about two years of trial and error with different types of flower in several different types of presses with varying techniques and varying results. There is still much to learn, but results have been consistent!

The piece shown here is available for purchase in person at or by messaging me. It demonstrates many types of flowers preserved by different methods. Tulip: dehydrator press, delphinium: cardboard press, rose: dehydrator and then finished in cardboard press, hydrangea: cardboard press, Daisy mum: microwave and then cardboard press.

A pastel rainbow of colors brings warmth and delight to a special day! The couple really wanted a wildflower look, inspired by their woodsy, blooming engagement location. Many of these blooms were ordered ahead, but some simply had to be foraged! The shasta daisies, Russian sage, cosmos, and tansy came from the neighborhood (with permission, when needed, of course!) We love a personal touch!
