Our Hero ⭐️
On Thursday night the team donned their finest attire and headed to for the annual tourism awards.
Soraya was nominated in the Unsung Hero category and we are immensely proud to announce that she won!
An accolade previously won by our Director and founder Rob, Soraya undoubtedly deserved this fantastic award.
Since moving to The Maynard from the Corinthia in a London she has built our wedding and events team from scratch, and built systems and processes that ensure the smooth operation of the business.
During lockdowns 1 and 2 Soraya showed innovation by conducting online virtual show-rounds. This work has continued post-covid and has made us more accessible to couples not just here in the Peak District but all over the world. She has conducted early morning and late night virtual tours with couples residing all over the world looking to come ‘home’ or find that perfect Peak District place to get wed.
Thanks to the efforts of Soraya and her team, we were crowned Wedding Venue 2022 for East Midlands and runners up nationally. These awards are based off bride and groom feedback, with Soraya’s name dropped in the majority of the responses.
Soraya thinks of everything to make the couples have an unforgettable day. She is there from booking right through until the night do, taking care and event managing every detail personally and with perfection. She is not a 9-5pm worker and goes the extra mile - even taking a very short maternity leave after the birth of her second child (we protested - she insisted!).
