I have to admit it felt great to receive a top 10 Celebrant Brisbane award last year and I do feel proud seeing it on the shelf in my office, and yes it would be amazing to follow up with another one. But it's not just a case of me simply asking all of my friends and family to vote over and over, voting is only open to those who married after June 30th 2023.
So if you are one of my wonderful couples reading this and you think I deserve a vote please click on the link below, it's super simple and you can choose to nominate up to 5 of your wedding service providers.
If you do pop a vote in for me please remember to use my business name - Beneath The Tree Ceremony, rather than Zena.

As a celebrant I can marry you any time of the day but if you want to make the most of mother nature's light bulb then it's wise to consult your photographer about time lines and what time of day will work best for the type of photos you are hoping for.
Look at this beautiful afternoon sunlight streaming through the trees just minutes after Nicole and Ryan's ceremony had wrapped up.

I sometimes get the privilege of seeing a couples full gallery of photos and they are always full of beautiful images with lots of smiles, kisses, occasional tears and of course love.
Josh and Mia's gallery was no different, bursting with wonderful memories but this one shot is my absolute favourite...
the light, the look, the love ❤️

Yesterday afternoon, on a perfect winters day, Ben and Shay held their charming country wedding
Lowood.
They requested an unplugged ceremony, meaning guests were asked to put their devices away, but not until they were first offered the chance to snap a few pics of the wedding party looking fab before the ceremony got into full swing.
Alex the photographer and I had to get in on the action too, snapping a selfie with the happy couple while music from the Grooms all-time favourite movie played in the background.
Weddings don't have to be serious or solemn; there are so many ways to add elements of fun here and there to bring out the smiles and encourage participation, along with plenty of heartwarming moments too ♡
If you've ever thought that an elopement where you don't even know your witnesses couldn't possibly feel personal or special, then this morning with this beautiful couple would have helped prove it definitely can be all that and more.
The couple included personal vows and no sooner had the groom begun sharing his chosen words those of us privileged to be part of the ceremony were all a bit teary-eyed, we could see and feel the emotion woven in amongst the words.
Yes it's great sometimes to be surrounded by loved ones sharing in special occasions but whether it's for financial reasons, you don't like to be centre of attention, you want to keep things simple and stress free, or like today you just want to surprise everyone, then an elopement could be your perfect style of ceremony ♡

The perfect wedding venue for Tim and Kirby was a cool and quirky little pub where they have enjoyed nights out together before.
Their photographer Jill was there to capture the moment as Tim saw Kirby enter the room and share their beautifully written vows, with just 4 of their loved ones sharing in the intimate moment.
After spending a little time together comfy on the velvet lounge, letting it sink in that they were now husband and wife, Kirby and Tim were ready to party on with more friends joining them for a night of celebration.
Love, commitment and family were celebrated beneath the tree on Saturday morning when Kaitlin and Peter tied the knot.
A sand blending ceremony allowed the whole family to create a lasting memento of the day, beginning with a layer of pure white sand to symbolise the foundation of love their family is built on, followed then by vibrant colours representing each of them as unique individuals, united as one family.

Originally marrying 27 years ago, but after a while deciding to go their separate ways, George and Jacqui became husband and wife once more today after their paths brought them full circle back to each other's arms.
There really aren't many rules that you must stick to on a wedding day and your celebrant will help take care of those that you do. You definitely don't need to follow traditions either if it's really not your thing.
♡ Leah and Michael had uneven wedding party numbers with 4 bridesmaids and only 2 groomsmen. We played around with ideas at rehearsal for standing positions and the walking out order, and come wedding day they all looked fabulous.
♡ Leah and Michael didn't exchange rings during their ceremony, choosing instead to do it in private when they spent a little bit of quality time together first thing in the morning before separating to go get ready. This also ensured rings weren't accidentally dropped into the Laguna below us during the ceremony.
♡ Signing of the certificates took place with their 2 witnesses after the ceremony had concluded, so that guests didn't have to sit through the paperwork. Did you know that you're officially married after sharing vows, the documents are more about registering your marriage.
♡ Because the sun was due to set fairly quickly after the ceremony, Leah and Michaels guests were asked to hold on to their well wishes until the couple joined them after photos at the reception. No one was offended, they all understood it was a timeline thing. This not only gave the photographer a little more daylight to work with but also meant the newlyweds could actually enjoy catching up with their guests in a relaxed environment, not rushed to hug everyone in under 2 seconds.
♡ Here's a big one that did surprise a few guests, with the couple well and truly throwing tradition out the window with the groom taking the brides family name rather than the other way round.
Your wedding day is about the two of you, so choose the things that have meaning for you rather than just what people expect.

Cherrie and Steve eloped this morning, becoming Mr & Mrs Wallace.
They invited their good friends Jacquie and Phil along to be their witnesses but what Steve and Cherrie didn't realise was that both couples will now be sharing a wedding anniversary, because coincidentally today was Phil and Jacqui's 50th wedding anniversary.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lee Paula and Jeff invited family and friends to join them at their brand new home which was finished just in time for the celebrations. It was another gorgeous winters day as they stood beneath a tree that had grown naturally into the perfect shape for an arbour, surrounded by their loved ones, some who travelled from Ireland to join the party.

Just want to know is this 2 storey lovely a Philodendron? I have heaps of plants in my garden but admit that I buy and plant things because i like them, not because I know their name or know they will work for that spot...it's definitely gardening by trial and error at my place, but this one seems extremely happy.
Let's elope to a nice place on Mount Tamborine with the Gold Coast as our backdrop and just our kids with us! That's exactly what today's couple did and it was sooo lovely. Still a secret at the moment so hang tight for photos.
What happens when the weather puts a stop to plan A & plan B? When a couple believe what they say is far more important than the location, then the front porch becomes the perfect dry spot to say I do 🥰 Congratulations Mr & Mrs Tonkin
Was super spoilt for Mothers Day with a new set of wheels!!! . . . A cute little cart to help make setting up easier
A very special couple from my 2021 weddings welcomed their lovely little girl into the world recently and asked an equally special friend of mine to capture baby Maisie in all her chubby cheek glory. If you're expecting and have been thinking about engaging a newborn photographer please take a look @amanda_maree_photography Your precious bub would be in very safe hands, in more ways than one 🥰
Very hard to sound convincing when you say the words "rain on your wedding day is good luck" when the Groom and his men have splashed trousers, the venue has a puddle in the middle of the floor and the full length glass windows show you what's going on outside!
