Abstinence, the oldest Industrial band from the NY/NJ/PA region to still be performing [1985 to present], will bring their captivating stage show and unique style of Industrial video music to a new generation of Industrial enthusiasts at Dark Force Fest. [BTW - We were the first Industrial band to play the famed Stone Pony.] The band’s all-star line-up is a testament to its impact and endurance in the industry that derives from its forward-thinking approach to Industrial music. Having played with bands like KMFDM, Disposable Heroes of Hypocrisy, 900 FT Jesus, Killing Joke, Author & Punisher, Consolidated, Virus 23, Pigface, Chemlab, Christian Death, Numb, and the like over nearly 40 years, the band has made its mark in and on Industrial history and culture.

The Hell Around You

In Fall 2020, Furnace Records had done a collaboration with Vinyl -terror & -horror for the release of their album, "The Sound Around You," in HellRoom Virtual Performance Space. DJ Darryl Hell used his turntablist/collage skills to reimagine Vinyl -terror & -horror's scratches and the orchestrations of composer George Kentros with his, remixing the record live. The line is greatly blurred as to who is doing what, perfectly melding the forms.

This is an official special edition release to celebrate 20 years of Vinyl -terror & -horror.

The release has 2 tracks that are presented as Side A and Side B.
Side A
The original album was in two parts; side A Vinyl -terror & -horror performing and side B is an interpretation done by composer George Kentros that was performed by an orchestra. In this version, DJ Hell plays them both simultaneously, providing an interesting representation of the interplay between both versions.

Side B
This is DJ Hell's version, which is a turntablist collage, melding both sides of the original album into a new interpretation.

Hello...
This time I am postponing tonight's performance because it is my birthday and after my wife had a multiple-week production, we are going to chill out and enjoy being alive.

My presentation WILL BE on Tuesday, June 1st. Thanks for supporting and the good thing is time is our friend. This project has turned into something much bigger because I have been able to really develop it beyond the more basic tribute I had originally planned.

Club Patience Zero founder DJ Darryl Hell returns to the HellRoom stage with his "Beats of Democracy" performance. It is a birthday celebration for Amy Goodman, executive producer/host for Democracy Now! Expect nothing less than Hell's unique mixing style to show respect to one of the legendary journalists of our time...or any time.

[artist rewind] The soundtrack will be my first full-length megaRemix of Android Lust. Sometime in 2019, Shikhee sent me doubles of a number of her vinyl releases. I have used them as components of numerous mixes, yet had not properly framed them into a single sonic sculpture featuring them alone. With Shikhee being one of the elders of women who wrote and lead their own industrial band, specifically as a women of color, I feel celebrating Amy with Shikhee's art is perfect placement. In addition, because so much of the work of Android Lust sounds like soundtrack music, it works well with my ongoing series of works featuring narrative dialog and a turntablist soundtrack.

Feb, 7, 1997 was the date of an event called the "Substation" and was the last art event to happen at Andy Warhol's Warehouse #2 before it was demolished and morphed into a corporate skyscraper. The collection of artists was broad and staggeringly dope.

Operation:Mindwipe did a performance installation with FeedBUCK Galore and took over the entire basement. O:M will bring back that vibe to celebrate the 24 years of art since that event, condensing the over 10 hour installation noise performance into 60 minutes.

We are feverishly producing our new season. We will be releasing the recordings of a number of performances from Season 1 on YouTube for your on-demand access throughout s6k Month in March. We were hoping to announce it sooner, but we will announce our new schedule on February 6, 2021.

We have a number of new artists from around the planet and our residents will always be in the mix. Even a few premieres are being discussed. 🤞🏾
