Social media gives everyone an equal chance to share whatever is on their mind. Many people who use social media do not think carefully about what they are going to say before they share it with thousands of people.
The other day, someone was murdered in New York City, and he ran a company that has been hurting people and causing people to die, by denying them really important medical care. It is really bad that our insurance system has made it so hard for people to get the care they need. It is also really bad to kill people.
If you are sad or angry that a person was murdered, that is okay. He was loved. If you are sad and angry that his company has made financial decisions that cost people life saving care, that is completely understandable. I hope that this moment in history will allow deep, meaningful changes in the health care system and how it is paid for, and the conversation about how to do that will turn productive.
Sometimes situations are too complicated to be discussed on social media.
