Meet the Music Director of the 2025 Nashoba Players production of Connected, the Musical! Kathryn Denney is frequently holding a baton, and sometimes composing her own music. This opportunity is her first chance to combine both of these loves, to music direct her own show! Just wait until you see the possibilities when the composer is in the Room Where it Happens, and an actor needs a song in a different key. She might fix it for you! You don't like something in the script? She will at least listen to you, and think about making it better.

Kathryn has a degree in French horn performance from Oberlin Conservatory, and a master's degree in Music Education from Boston University. She sings with Labyrinth Choir, a Boston-area professional chorus which tours Europe every year. She taught elementary school music in the Newton Public Schools for 18 years, and later in Berlin/Boylston, before becoming a theater music director who works on 12-15 shows per year. She is currently directing her 42nd musical, and Connected will be the 44th. Some of her favorites have been SpongeBob, Legally Blonde, The Yeomen of the Guard, The Music Man, and Beauty and the Beast. She is grateful to the Nashoba Players for providing a beautiful stage on which to bring the story of Gabriel and his friends to life.

Introducing our fantastic staff for the 2025 production of Connected! Our stage director, Jasmine Forrest (she/they), holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance from Berklee college of Music. She teaches, choreographs, performs and directs for artists all over the country. Notably, Jasmine went on to perform with Usher and back up dance at Lollapalooza 2023. Her background in dance spans 20 years, beginning at Pacific NorthWest Ballet in 2004, where she was trained in classical and contemporary ballet styles. From there she competed in hip hop, jazz, ballet and contemporary for 8 years. While competing she was trained by the likes of Brian Brooks and Kurt Douglas while attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. Currently, she primarily teaches dance, creative-directs for shows and films and choreographs for music videos and performances. Above all, Jasmine is a true artist, in her own words, and aspires to create a more inclusive and accessible entertainment industry by modeling supportive work environments, kindness and love in every room she walks into.
