Sadly its time to say goodbye. Working in the community is no longer a good fit with my suppressed immune system.
Thanks to everyone that has supported my business over the years. I've met so many lovely families and enjoyed being part of your precious celebrations.
I'm slightly tempted to write a book of all the hilarious stories the kids have shared with me.

I did not write this - but WOW does it speak to my heart!!! Worth the read.

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday... and the month is already over... and the year is almost over... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
and we realize it's too late to go back...
So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...
Let's keep looking for activities that we like...
Let's put some color in our grey...
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters...
I'm doing it after...
I'll say after...
I'll think about it after...
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...
afterwards, priorities change...
Afterwards, the charm is broken...
afterwards, health passes...
Afterwards, the kids grow up...
Afterwards parents get old...
Afterwards, promises are forgotten...
afterwards, the day becomes the night...
afterwards life ends...
And then it's often too late....
So... Let's leave nothing for later...
Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
best friends,
the best family...
The day is today... The moment is now...

We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.
So let's see if you have time to read this message and then share it.
Or maybe you'll leave it for... ′′ later "...

Only those that really know me will understand how excited I am to be painting metre long canvas leaves and creating copper jellyfish. Happiness is creating.

Finally feeling justified about all my sewing supplies. i managed to make 14 masks for my nearest and dearest before running out of elastic. I know they wont stop the virus but they do stop kids touching thier face so much.

I love using the colour teal in my designs. It seems to suit every skin tone especially my lovely model.

JAN CRAWFORD FACE ART

I’m Jan, and accidentally I have become Dunedin’s facepaint extraordinaire! I can be booked for corporate events, fundraisers and kids parties. I am very conscious about what I am applying to childrens faces . I use high quality FDA compliant cosmetic grade face paints and glitter. The paint is practically dry as I apply the last brushstroke so no nasty smudges and it should last all day. Face painting has allowed me to combine my artistic passion with my love for children. That wonderful moment when the child first looks in the mirror, and realises they have been transformed into a fairy, princess, tiger or super hero just melts my heart. What better job could there be than to make children happy? My background As a fine artist art, colour and texture have been my life for the past 30 years. I have both painted and taught watercolour, mixed media with texture, and run children’s art programmes. I have also worked as a textile fibre artist creating art works with threads [most of which I dye myself] and beads. I create nuno felt which is fine merino wool fibres felted onto pure silk, again hand dyed by me. At present I am working on floral head pieces and gem clusters to use with my face painting designs.

With my move from Queenstown to Dunedin came a change in direction, starting my business JAN CRAWFORD FACE ART. I fell in love with the face paint from the very first brush stroke. The quality and colours available within this range are superb. The shimmer paint, glitters and jewels available mean my designs are limited only by my imagination.
