Join us at TEDxUofNorthDakota to not only hear inspiring stories from our speakers but also incredible music from North Dakota Klezmer!

North Dakota Klezmer is a folk music ensemble that specializes in traditional music from one of the richest and most diverse musical regions in the world. Spanning countries such as Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece, the songs are drawn from Gypsy and Jewish traditions and are typical of the music played at weddings and major holidays. The group play in what they describe as “village style” - a high-energy interpretation of these traditional songs that aims to get the audience up and dancing. The members of the band include: Tamara Bertram on violin, Vedant Srivastava on guitar, Travis Middleton on cello, Matthew Fowler on percussion.

We are thrilled to announce another one of our TEDx speakers, Jeremy Holloway!

Jeremy Holloway PhD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Geriatric Education at the University of North Dakota. He is also founder of an intergenerational program, called Tellegacy. The focus of his research is concentrated on social connection, the social determinants of health, specifically self-efficacy, connectedness, and resiliency in work and life. Dr. Holloway developed a curriculum focused on intergenerational programs that include growth mindset, reminiscence therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, and S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting practices to nourish internal qualities and self-agency of older adults. These best practices for wellness & health promotion address needs related to loneliness and social isolation. Dr. Holloway is also an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially regarding Social Determinants of Health for all peoples.

We are excited to announce Averie Eixenberger as one of our 2023 TEDxUofNorthDakota speakers!

Averie Eixenberger is a student at the University of North Dakota pursuing an undergrad with majors in Commercial Aviation and English. Originally from Idaho, Averie graduated from Idaho State University with an Associate of Arts in General Studies. She founded and owns a podcasting business called Rosethorne Productions, which launches their first podcast, Radio Calls, at the end of the year. Through this podcast, she hopes to bring more representation to the aviation industry and cover topics that are often overlooked.

We are so excited to hear more about her LEADership and learn from her inspiring story!

We are excited to announce Ted Mullin as a speaker for our upcoming TEDx event!

Here's a little more about Ted!

"My name is Ted Mullin. I was born and raised in Littleton, CO. I got to UND in the summer of 2018 to pursue my dreams of getting a college education and playing Division 1 football. Fast forward to today where I am in my 6th year of college football serving as a 2x team captain. I graduated in May 2022 with a double major in Business Management and Marketing, and a Minor in Professional Sales. In December of 2023, I will graduate with my Master of Business Administration. On the side, I am a licensed realtor and I find it to be a privilege to help people find their dream homes and achieve the real estate goals they set out for themselves and their families. I enjoy anything outdoors, particularly skiing, fishing, camping, and traveling with friends and family. Welcome to my "Ted" Talk."

We are thrilled to announce Dr. Grace Karikari as another one of our incredible TEDx speakers!

Dr. Grace Karikari [Ka-kari], fondly known as Dr. Gee, is an assistant professor and educator
scholar with the Indigenous Health Department, University of North Dakota School of Medicine
& Health Sciences. Dr. Karikari holds a PhD in Public Health with a focus on Health Behavior
from Indiana University Bloomington School of Public Health. She is also a certified health
education specialist (CHES), a certified health and wellness coach, and a passionate success and
holistic wellness advocate.

Dr. Karikari is also a devoted educator, leader, and mentor. She was named winner of the 2023
UND Excellence in Course Development and Innovative Teaching Strategies Award.

Besides academic teaching and research, Dr. Karikari is the creator of the Thriving Generation
with Dr. Gee YouTube and Podcast channels. The main vision for these educational channels is
to share resources and tools that will encourage people to take holistic initiatives to
thrive and fulfill their utmost potential.

Dr. Karikari is also the founder and co-owner of KENKAN Books and More LLC, an
educational publishing company dedicated to producing materials that provide children the
opportunity to learn and practice different languages of African countries.

We are proud to announce Matthew Anderson as one of our speakers for TEDxUofNorthDakota!

A former college athlete and the author of "Running Mate", Matthew M. Anderson loves helping organizations harness the power of relationships. Matt founded Surprise Church Bismarck. He also founded The Kindness Initiative, a non-profit that empowers elementary students and volunteers to transform schools through kindness. Matt currently lives in Bismarck with his wife and three children.
