Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Part of the reason I chose to make felt flowers for my wedding, which later inspired me to start , is that felt flowers are so much more sustainable and Earth friendly than boutique flowers and grocers’ cut flowers. It broke my heart (and my budget) to include something in my wedding that was not only single use, it would only be used for under an hour, AND it used a LOT of resources to get to its use in the first place. This felt bouquet was MUCH more cost effective! As a bonus, I get to see my beautiful wedding bouquet every single day, sitting on the corner of my desk. 💗🌺🌿 During this time where many of us have a little extra time on our hands, I encourage you to explore some of the single-use things in your life that could be replaced with something more sustainable. Every step towards sustainability helps for a better tomorrow! ♻️💚🌳

A-tisket, a-tasket, a flower-filled basket! This is 40, yep, 40 settings ready for headbands. I am out of my hard plastic headbands, so until I have to leave the house for an essential, in the basket they shall live. I’m abstaining from Amazon orders right now, to be sure I don’t use up resources that could be used on delivering essentials to others. Looking forward to days with more freedom to move about my area, but for now, I’m grateful for my health and for the resources to spend my afternoon creating something that I love. What is everyone doing to celebrate the first day of Spring, and combat the frustrations and worries of ? Me, I’m fortunate to be able to take my day job home. I know there are a lot of folks out there right now that are facing serious hardship because they don’t have that luxury. And my night job, well I’m making flowers (that apparently match my nails 😆) to cheer myself up during these strange times we are living in. I did not realize what a social creature I am. I’m craving the daily in-person interactions with my coworkers I am so accustomed to, and I’m only three days in to self isolation. It’s important to keep communication with others up in these times. If you don’t have anyone to chat with but you need to talk - slide on in to my dms. Just no funny business, okay? I’m a proper married lady! Take care of each other and yourselves! Happy Spring!
