🧁 21st Birthday 🧁

A very special Moongate set up yesterday. This was for my sister on her 21st birthday. She wanted pink, cream and gold and it looked beautiful.

I am definitely stealing these for my daughter’s 4th birthday party next weekend! Love that the quality of these balloons means they last for weeks.

Also, they are 100% biodegradable so I can compost them once they are done ♻️

We are two weeks away from our Wedding Showcase on the 12th February 2023 from 1pm-4pm.

Our venue is looking incredible, with our newly renovated Talbot Suite and Bridal Suite.

With divine canapés, Prosecco and an excellent selection of local suppliers, you really won't want to miss out!

Matthew Stephens - Wedding Singer, Wedding Guitarist and DJ will be singing, creating the best atmosphere for your visit.

Olive and Art Events will be dressing the venue in a range of styles, providing you with inspiration for your special day.

Picabo Photography by Georgie and Will Harrison will be here with the Picabus - A unique photo booth experience that will guarantee to add that WOW factor to your wedding.

We have an amazing range of talented make up artists, hairdressers and beauticians to get you all set for the big day- Sarah.Oldfield- MUA, Gemma Bann Hairdressing, Caroline Taylor - Temple Spa, My Dentist Pen*stone & jodiegillmakeup.

Fields and Flowers are here to chat with you about your floristry needs to get you wedding ready. A Wilder Hero will have some perfect gifts for the little people in your wedding party and JTR Photography will certainly not disappoint with their show stopping photography skills.

Such a beautiful venue which made it easy to style! This sign made a perfect feature and I think rosewood is my new favourite colour. I got to use that colour twice last week so my house was full of pink balloons. Such a pretty shade and perfect for a little girl’s baptism.

Not forgetting the donut wall, always a winner, especially with younger guests.

💍 Engagement 💍

Had a great time setting this up for Jacob and Lucy’s engagement last weekend.

These new white welcome signs are now available for hire and look stunning with a simple black font.

Last weekend was a busy one, with a wedding, engagement and 21st.

Over the next 2 weekends I have set ups for 2 x christenings, a 30th, a 40th and a 1st birthday. Love being busy 🤩 just spare a thought for my poor hands…that’s a lot of balloons.

After 11 years teaching I have done my fair share of primary school discos. Although I was (thankfully) unable to help on the night I wanted to support the school with this event and volunteered to help with the decor.

This was the resulting balloon arch. A totally different style to what I usually do but a lot of fun to create.

Great day visiting today. Adding some red balloon garlands to their dyslexia and dyspraxia awareness display boards.

690 balloons across 6 sites. It’s certainly been a busy one.

There seem to be some really informative and interesting events happening across the week. It has been interesting, mixing my old career with my new one!

Neutral Moongate

My favourite set up to date! I absolutely love the look of this for a special little man’s christening.

This set up looks stunning in the tipi and the neutral colours really compliment the wooden surroundings. I am so grateful to be the resident event stylist at .new.inn with such amazing event spaces.

🐓 Hen Party 🐓

This hen party set up was back in July but I went away immediately after the set up and, as usual, forgot to post.

The hens were incredibly organised and I only provided a small amount of decor, they really went all out for their friend 💛

The foliage wall with balloons is the perfect back drop for any event and I am obsessed with these personalised keepsake signs!

🌦 Rain did not stop the fun at today’s party🌦

After trying to brave it and waiting a while for it to blow over, we decided to move the bouncy castle inside and it looked stunning!

Beautiful pastel colours were used for a lovely little ladies’ 1st birthday. The balloons were such a great addition to the bouncy castle and so fun to do.

The large pastel helium balloons with tassels on the children’s tables looked fab and completed the set up.

After my nephew’s christening I decided to see if my balloons could be reused. They were repurposed today for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. I added some “purple prickles” to match the Gruffalo theme!

🌟 Olive and Art 🌟

I have some lovely new followers so I thought I would explain the inspiration behind the company name….

Meet my amazing children, Olive and Arthur (or Art). They are reason I chose the name and the reason I decided to take the leap and follow my dream. I wanted the flexibility and the fun and I wanted them to know that it’s okay to take a risk to do something you love!

After 11 years of teaching I needed to do something different. I left in January to pursue events full time and genuinely haven’t looked back.

Olive and Art love my set ups; every time I blow up a balloon Olive asks if it’s for her birthday and every time I do a donut wall Arthur asks if there are any spare. They love that I can pick them up and drop them off for school/nursery, they see loads more of me and they are excited that they are going to get great birthday parties.

So there you have it - the story behind Olive and Art Events. The business named after 2 loveable but cheeky children 💛
