I was shocked when I first used a perfume from them. I have been buying oil perfumes prior to discovering Angel fragrance, but the first oil perfume I got from them, I could not help noticing that the scent was stronger and lasted longer, I still cannot explain how that is possible because oil perfume is supposed to be oil perfume right? Wrong! I stopped griping about the extra 1k here and there because I was getting value. They sell proper perfumes too, chocolates, gift items and I think they do those money bouquet surprise things too. However, it’s the perfume that took me there and keeps me going back there even before I knew it was Udeme’s shop. Now I also buy their body mists and hand cremes and the result is satisfactory.

All of you ladies that your tailor never gets your cloth ready on time, this peson does not do that. Regina Waribo Essien Raw Stitches makes my dresses. The very first set of dresses I made from her were workwear, and it was so well done you could not guess it was ”sewn”, you understand what I mean by that. I was really impressed because they were fitted dresses and looked so good despite my mummy pooch, I could wear them without a body shaper and still look shapely, it’s a math miracle that only good tailors can pull off. I also got some ready to wear clothes that fit like a glove. Unfortunately, I do not take pictures like the regular girl so I do not have lots of pictures of her work but every single time I wear something she made someone requests for her number, the last time I wore a gown she made for me one woman requested for the dress to show her tailor because she felt mine will be pricey, as I type this I am yet to retrieve the dress from her( been busy), she meets deadlines too and also affordable for the quality of clothes she gives out. I believe her phone number is on the page I just tagged. From casual to corporate to native wears, she does a fantastic job. So I made a 50 days content calendar for my business, because I felt it will make content creation easy for me. I was able to come up with content titles for 50 days. I have gone through it and decided to start with the easiest on my list. It’s no 4. and its to give a shoutout to other businesses. I sat down and thought of 4 businesses that have repeatedly given me value for money and courteously too. I am a civil servant guys, so while they are not cheap because they do give value and value cost money, they are affordable. They are 4 businesses this time, and ill post one daily for the next 4 days. Without much ado ill go to the first one. None of them is aware I am doing this and it is not a paid promotion, rather its more like a user generated testimonial.

I used to struggle with keeping my edges until I discovered Iniobong. Iniobong Umoh makes my hair. Iniobong is still one of the most courteous and well-behaved human I know. One time she was unavailable and I had to make my hair from someone else, MEJO said why did you not call Iniobong? “she pampers your hair”, that’s from an observer and it was an avid description of what she does to hair (pampering). If she washes your hair, you will know its clean, because she will part it and check for dirt and go again if there is a need, not the things that Oku Street people do. Funny how I first met her at Oku Street and was impressed because she had a clean and dry towel, because what’s with the dirty and damp towels all over that street. She was the one who introduced me to deep conditioning and babe did not gatekeep, she will mix everything before you and even tell you the best hair products to use. Her hand is also almost pain free. Even if you are carrying your natural hair, she will make Ghana braids look good on it. I have been using her for over 7 years and I can tell you for free that you will get value for your money and your edges will thank you. I have just a few pictures of hair she made. My first experience with joining a group of like minds with respect to my business happened when I started following a woman called professor of food on instagram. She sold us an ebook on how to properly price your food products and one of the benefits of buying that ebook was that she added you to a group called food business mentoring group. The other benefits was that we got access to a UK certified food safety course at a discounted rate. The benefits of being in that group before she closed it down was too numerous. You could easily find where to buy stuff for your business just by asking not to mention the daily update on where to get the best prices for food related  stuff. I am in uyo but I know  bakeries where I  can mass produce my chin chin or bread or anything that can be done in a bakery and have it sent to me from Lagos, just provide a recipe and someone to supervise it on ground. Invoicing, order confirmation and  cancellation slips, catering checkslips, tax returns, terms of service templates the brands of raw materials that give the best cooking outcomes etc.  Stuff too numerous to mention.

My other awesome experience was joining a doughnut upgrade class. That class featured other things besides doughnut and people from almost every continent signed up. I saw things, positive business uplifting things.

I have also signed up for a challenge and I saw videos of people that really open your eyes to the fact that you have to upgrade.

The other thing that being in those groups affords you is that it provides a level ground for you to network and ask for help from people whom you  would normally not meet and they help you just because you are in a common group not to mention the access to the teachers and owner of this groups.

Again like I said in my last post.  I'll encourage you to step out. It will do you a lot of good.

I went to replace the stud of my heels and the shoemaker asked for more money than was necessary. I just told him the money imhabe is to buy chicken that I will sell today. He looked at me and asked me if I was the one that does the selling or I have a sales staff. I just answerd that I sell when necessary nut we so actually have a a sales rep. I asked why he inquired, only for him to tell me that I do not look like someone that can sell something. I looked at him askance , how am I supposed to look but it also got me thinking , I hope that is any you people are not buying from me bwcuse you think I do not look like someone that sells something. My Name is Blessing Mfonobong Okon, a  graduate of The Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Uyo.
As a Corp member in 2013,  I incorporated and became the MD of  Divaland Services Nigeria Limited, a food processing business that specialises in the production of pastries,  small chops and drinks, among other things. The  Instagram handle of the food processing arm of our company is  .  Recently we have had to get re-registered as Divaland foods limited to better express what the business stands for.
Divaland foods Limited is a food business that specializes in the production of tasty and nutritious drinks, pastries and food. We are focused on deploying healthier and safer alternatives  in the production of high quality and high demand everyday snacks and pastries. We also provide training services for young people who are unemployed and want to learn how to produce snacks and healthy drinks in order to start up their own businesses.
I started this business because I have a love for producing and serving snacks and food in a grand style that will not go away no matter how hard I try. I have decided to give my self to exploring that love and desire to the fullest.
Our Menu: includes small chops and finger foods, pastries and baked produce, zobo drinks, freshly produced fruit juice with zero artificial ingredients, smoothies, protein such as snail, chicken, fish, beef, gizzard etc. We will be introducing greek and regular yoghurt, granola, parfait , homemade bread sharwarma etc in the coming months.  I also hope that we will be able to  open satelite centres in every state over time before exporting our amazing food to other countries.

I remember when I just returned from warri and started making small chops. I informed my madam Tina that taught me how to bake and make snacks that I make chops oh. The moment someone ordered chops from her she called me. I delivered she loved it and started asking me to teach her. She asked me how much then I said ahhh anything for you. You are my madam now. I'll do it free. We fixed a day to start the class. I reported to her factory at Ntak Inyang accordingly. She brought flour and water for me to mix and make the wrappers. I now told her that since she is a learner no need to make the dough too soft so she can manipulate it. Ill make it a bit firm. I started mixing without measuring anything. She looked at me askance. She went like madam how far na. What's the measurement for the water? I told her that it's done by " touch" she just kept starring at me.
I thought I made a lot of sense lol. Foolish me.
You can't blame me too much the factory I learnt from made everything by touch.

Few years down the line the pharmacist in me revolted . I started to standardize everything for reproducibility and so I could effectively delegate. I thank God for how far I have come today. Everything down to water is measured and standardized.

I even made a book out of it fully coloured and illustrated with the measurements for everything.

It all makes it easier for new entrants. I suffered and experimented and lost a lot of raw material before coming up with these things but yippee the gains are worth it . And our company is the better for it.

By the way that was the beginning and the end of my attempt at training my madam. She did not send me away . I just never found the time
And though she tried to get me to come back that training never happened.

Many years ago when I began to make small chops commercially. I'll go online to pore over the lovely pictures put out there by other people. I'll marvel and wonder at how awesome those chops looked, and I kept wondering when I'll get to that level.
On the morning of Sunday 10th July 2022 after we had finished Frying puff puff and putting it in the display glass, I thought to take a random picture to post on my status to inform my people that chops was ready. I did just that, took a random photo without much thought.
I got into church and forgot about it, a few hours later I opened my phone to actually post the pic. When I saw it, I wondered if that was my pic or a downloaded photo because what is this beauty sitting pretty on my phone? You mean that we produced this Beauty. Wow wow wow, we must have left the trenches and I did not notice lol.
While I look forward to the better version of this puff puff that will be totally horn free because my perfectionist self still believes puff puff can be better but our current place is so far removed from where we are coming from that I am just grateful for growth.

If we persist at something growth will surely happen.

I work at a place where the canteen is manned by two different vendors. One side makes excellent meals. Good cooking, good set up with a bain marie and all. Good packaging, nice uniform, pretty staff too. However, attitude zero, customer service zero, empathy zero, human connection zero.

The second vendor's meals are barely passable,sometimes not passable at all and, for a few specific meals, really good. Generally, average meals. However, attitude 100, character 100, empathy 100, customer service 100, love and human connection 100. This vendor has enough returning customers to keep her afloat. She has been here for a very long time. Initially, I used to wonder why people choose horrible food over excellent meals.

Now I have found myself choosing playful banter with her, her warm ambience, the soft laughter, empathy and the care that the woman exudes over excellent cooking. So I have an idea why the others still go there. I feel guilty when I don't buy from her because my heart has grown fond of her. ?

Human nature is complicated. This speaks to me on so many levels .It's not just about the fact that I run a food business and need to find a way to incorporate humanity into it so people can gravitate towards us and stay for the long run.

It's also the fact that in relationships people will pick things which look pretty intangible over material things and looks or aesthetics. It's crazy. I bet that's why madams have runins with drivers and ogas have runins with maids sometimes. No, I am not excusing indiscipline , I am just making a stark assessment of human nature. This even applies to unromantic relationships too.

That's why there is a crowd at a particular kiosk on your street, not necessarily did the person use jazz.

Truth be told, I am still processing this reality in so many dimensions and wondering how this affects my reality and pockets daily.

It's 7.48 pm and I am sitting in my kitchen eating crunchy samosas and I can't help wondering how  something that has no sugar in it can be so tasty.  From the crispness of the wrappers  to the tasty meaty filling lordy!
This must have been why I paid transport from benin to warri post internship in 2013 to go learn how to make chops. The taste is indescribable.
I have been making small chops for years so I amnnot particularly triggered by it. Sometimes. I only eat hot puff puff week after week from our products.  But today I fried myself samosas and springrolls because today my children specifically Mkpouto has shown me pepper and I deserve to be pampered for handling it with grace. God those people that have four children not spaced out, how do you do it . Because just two with two years between them the stress sometimes is soul reaching.
After wanting everything possible on the surface of the earth including that I should drop the brother and carry her . Both of them are finally asleep. Am binging on small chops and have no regrets, these are the pleasures we should not deny ourself while on this side of eternity. Well I need to sleep.  Orders have to be sent out early tomorrow morning. Not to mention I have to mother two bundles of God's Blessing all through the night. Good night brethren.
