Finally, here’s revealing our surprise speaker, Jahnabi Goswami.

Jahnabi Goswami is an Indian HIV/AIDS activist from Assam. She is the first woman in the Northeast to declare her HIV status, and the founder and current treasurer of Assam Network of Positive People (ANPP). The current president of the Indian Network for People living with HIV/AIDS (INP+), she is the first women to hold the position.

The life of Jahnabi Goswami was also featured in a 2008 short documentary, Jahnabi's World, directed by Debjani Mukherjee.She was awarded the IBN7 Zindagi LIVE Awards in 2011.

She is nothing short of an inspiration for everyone around her, and we’re beyond honoured to have her here with us!

We’re super pumped to announce our last speaker for TEDxKharguliHills - Dimpu Baruah.

Mr. Dimpu is Assam’s most popular YouTuber – his two channels have over 2.5 million subscribers combined – and is already a raging sensation in the state and among the Assamese diaspora abroad. His rustic charm has fans across age groups.
The popularity of his channel can be attributed to his upbeat style of expressing his opinions on day-to-day topics.

Starting with his first video " Nalbari town by cycle,” Mr. Dimpu's fun and relatable videos have become a staple in every Assamese household. Through his unpretentious mannerisms, cheeky smirk, and trademark Nalbariya (Lower Assamese) accent, Mr. Dimpu has become a favourite of the Assamese people, who often end up turning to his channel for keeping up with the latest news and updates.

We’re honoured to have Mr. Kausar Jamil Hilaly as one of the esteemed speakers for TEDxKharguliHills.

Currently posted as the Chief Executive Officer of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, Mr. Hilaly’s years of experience and countless achievements make him a perfect role model for today’s youth! Holding an MPhil degree in Political Science, trained at IIM Kolkata, the National Institute of Public Policy Delhi, as well as the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia, Mr. Hilaly has served as Registrar of NLU, Guwahati, Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Assam Small Industries Development Corporation, and Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, among several others.

During his tenure as MD, the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation, a loss making PSU for 20 consecutive years, made profits in the financial year 2020-21!

Mr. Hilaly is nothing short of an inspiration. He has won the NCPEDP - Mphasis National Award for Universal Design in 2020 for services rendered to the community of disabled persons, and was a proud member of the team of international election observers sent to Sri Lanka in 2011.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce our speaker, none other than Dr. Hitesh Baruah.

Dr. Baruah is the Managing Director of Nemcare Hospitals Pvt Ltd, one of the fastest growing healthcare institutions in the North East. His journey dates back to 2001, and his hospitals have successfully treated over 10 million individuals with the best possible technologies and infrastructure.

Having a decade long experience in teaching, Dr. Baruah is an avid social worker too. As the President of the NGO Lifeline, he has touched the lives of innumerable commoners, and works to spread smiles across the faces of the underprivileged. Along with being a Doctor and a Social Worker, Dr. Baruah has a keen interest in music and cultural activities too. He has created soulful music for renowned assamese films including “Maa tumi Ananya”, “Anta Hin Jayatra”, “Suren Suror Putek”, “Junda Iman Gunda” and for the Bengali version of “Suren Suror Putek”. He has sung various renowned songs in the assamese movie industry, all of which have won him several accolades and awards.
