Taking the reins for the closing set this Saturday night is none other than essential New York techno artist Clarisa Kimskii ( ). Known for a highly kinetic, subtly blissful style of techno, Clarisa delivers a transcendent set every time she’s on the decks. We couldn’t end our party in better hands 👐

Clarisa’s distinctive style was forged through countless hours of techno immersion. Originally from Washington, D.C., she spent years living in Berlin where, by her own reckoning, she spent nearly every weekend within the walls of Berghain re-learning “what it was to be a raver”. That dancer-first perspective bleeds through into her sets, which are often complex percussion explorations with a simple end: movement. Clarisa got the chance to complete the circle earlier this month by playing Berghain herself and sharing her perspective on what it means to dance in that space.

Now based in New York, Clarisa is a resident DJ for the indomitable MERGE party ( ), whose mission it is to deliver “queer rejuvenation through techno”. For a taste of this rejuvenating energy, dive into Clarisa’s recent mix for Resident Advisor, a “free, fluid but also remarkably precise” hour of techno intented to give a glimpse of what you might expect to hear from Clarisa in a club setting. Less than ✌🏼 weeks 'till we get together, so it's about time to introduce the DJs soundtracking your night. Let's start off in the Residents Room, where we'll have a motley crew of C&E veterans putting in the work to make you move 😤

Each of these DJs-in-waiting have guided Cause & Effect partygoers through some big dancefloor moments, each set infused with their unique sensibilities on the decks. Who could forget ‘s punchy electro bouncing off the walls of Market Hotel, & ‘a emotive selections vibrating through the crowd at Mansions, or .456 & ‘s Chicago-heavy, house-forward set getting people jumping on that same carpeted dancefloor.

Big one incoming ✨ December 16th we dip into dancefloor bliss with , and at the controls. These artists are masters of the dance floor flow state - come ready to experience a simmering journey through house, acid, juke, and pure deep techno in the main room.

We'll also have the side room jumping with the audio stylings of C&E mainstays , .456 and of course . This'll be no chill-out room: attendees of our last Market function may have vivid memories of jackin' house and punchy electro bouncing off the cinder block walls into a sweaty crowd. Your C&E residents are no strangers to party-starting, taking the controls when the floor is empty and (hopefully) leaving it full for the next to play. We got to enjoy that process once again at last Sunday and wanted to share out the audio for your replay pleasure

The set is a slow burn, exploring a few twists and turns before finding a final groove and doubling down. Expect atmospheric percussion paired with warm asides that eventually settle into driving dance rhythms.

We‘ve played a couple of our favorite sets in the JD booth - it must be some combination of the intimate environs, the wonderful staff (ty to for the top tier hospitality), and the smooth rotary that make the flow more intuitive and connected to those in attendance. Next up, we’re positively elated to welcome DJ Wawa ( ) to the booth this Sunday. Armed with an endless supply of deep cuts, Wawa translates an appreciation for the healing powers of the dancefloor into impeccably curated sets saturated with intention. A spirit of playful openness permeates any space they’re on the decks, encouraging dancers to release expectations, enjoy the present, and groove with those around them.

DJ Wawa’s unique style springs from their ability to weave together tracks from seemingly different genres, geographies, and generations into a single story that just feels right. Directly sensing the emotional register of each track, the musical DNA, Wawa ignores the superficial and bridges tracks “across eras” in a way that illustrates a deeper connection. Their latest Lot Radio transmission is a wonderful example: a set that feels 100% Wawa as it hops between house, disco, italo, jazz fusion, afrobeat, and hip hop without missing a beat. Wawa also produces and releases raw, emotive house tracks alongside Clay Wilson through their own label Hit Factory Records, and showcases these sounds along with high-profile guest mixes on an NTS show of the same name.

Our last pairing brings together two of our all-time favorite DJs in a peak-time b2b: and PLO man. They share a hypnotic style on the decks, keeping the party locked into a groove that morphs through percussive breakdowns, driving cuts, and off-kilter techno with the occasional melodic flair. The combination of their abilities will make leaving the dance floor all but impossible.

deep creep’s influence on Brooklyn’s party spaces is widely felt and much appreciated. When she’s at the controls expect to hear an expert selection of mind-bending tracks that give listeners a glimpse of where dance music is headed. Outside of the booth, she highlights work from top-tier producers and DJs through her premiers, mixes, and interviews, as well as its eponymous Lot Radio show. deep creep has a special place in this party’s own history as she threw down an unmatched peak time set at our first big event last winter. Those who braved the blizzard that night may also remember the euphoric late night b2b with Beta Librae, which you can listen back to on our Soundcloud ☁️

PLO man is a worldwide force in dance music, generating and distributing forward-thinking electronic fare through collectives such as CC Not, Globex, INTe*ra and ACTING PRESS. Throwing down marathon sets wherever possible, PLO man hops across continents to guide the energy of the globalised underground music world. Recent appearances in New York include a fall date at Nowadays alongside CZ Wang and a particularly sweaty edition of Club Night Club last winter. Expect this set to fog up the windows as well 😶‍🌫️

Our next 🅱️✌️🅱️ brings together the bass-leaning, texture-heavy musical stylings of DJ Healthy (.healthyyy ) and Special Guest DJ ( ). Both of these selectors feel at home in a wide range of sonic spaces, a fact that becomes apparent as you experience one of their sets or dig through their curatorial projects

Special Guest DJ’s productions arrive through many aliases. Some, like his crimeboys project with Pontiac Streator, are collaborative, while others are meditative solo excursions. Many of them reach our ears through his own label 3XL, a space for glitch-heavy soundscapes that can be viewed as ambient “depending on your attitude”. These projects tend to center around beautiful melodies buried underneath layers of sound, occasionally bubbling up to the surface for a brief, bright moment.

For his part, DJ Healthy prolifically curates and appears on forward-thinking lineups across New York and Japan, frequently delivering mind-bending sets under multiple aliases (fans of deeper, darker sounds should hop into Maserati, a collaborative project with Significant Other), all while serving as label boss of his own imprint: Will Records. His Doghausu parties at Mood Ring are a groove-centered community event, while his Pacific Mode residency in Public Record’s Sound room tends to deliver more experimental sounds for the auditorily adventurous. Originally from Japan, DJ Healthy forges connections between his current home and his homeland by organizing events featuring New York favorites alongside top-tier local artists, such as a recent tour through Osaka, Sapporo, and Tokyo with Special Guest DJ and Ben Bondy.

The b2b at the core of Cause & Effect, this next iteration promises to be a special one as Shameless returns from a crash course in Clubkultur with Club-Mate flowing through his veins. While his partner in crime wandered Ostberlin, Union could be spotted in the pit at your neighborhood punk show, camped out front right at Nowies, or spinning vinyl-only sets at wine bars across Brooklyn - a sonic sommelier pairing finely aged tunes. Their reunion in the warm glow of the Myrtle-Wyckoff M is sure to be one of gained dance floor perspective and the occasional cheeky banger 🫡
