Hey Fam!

Our next event, A Day For Dani, is coming up fast, so I wanted to share with you all some of the prizes you'll be able to bid on in the silent auction!

Our friend Kaitlin Wootton has been gathering some great baskets, but I wanted to share a special one that we're putting together with some of our brewer friends.

Up for auction is going to be a Brew Day Experience!

You'll be able to bid for a chance to win a professional brew day experience with one of our local brewery friends.

This will include an entire day of brewing, start to finish, where you can hang out, help brew the beer, learn a bunch and even make fun of the brewer (just Ben, actually).

As an added bonus, you'll get a bunch of bragging rights once the beer is on tap ("Hey, I brewed this.")

All proceeds of this auction will go back to Dani's family!

Also, I wanted to thank a few other donors for the event: Creekside Beer (thank, Tyler!), Ally Bank (seriously, no joke), Callahan Auto Parts (Sandusky, OH), & more great folks! I'll fill you in later.

As an added bonus, Nick and I need to make some room in our storage unit, so you'll be able to get your hands on some cool FBH merch, swag and nostalgic stuff (event signs, random FBH stuff we find, etc).

This should be one for the history books!

You who might recall her from her time at Rock Bottom Brewing, Spoonwood Brewing or one of the owners of Firewhistle Brewing (along with her husband, Buddy)

Tickets are FREE but a $10 cash donation at the door is welcomed!

A few weeks ago, you may have recalled the tragic death of our friend Danielle Wickerham (Falcione) who worked at Spoonwood Brewing/Rock Bottom and was the wife to Buddy from Firewhistle Brewing & also Spoonwood.

I'm excited to announce that we will be hosting a benefit for Buddy and the family in Dani's honor on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Chimera Brewing (the new brewery opening where Mindful used to be located).

We're planning a pretty packed day full of music, prizes, guest taps and lots of honoring the life of such a wonderful person (and OG PGH beer girl). And of course you'll get to check out one of PGH's newest breweries (opening just before the event).

More details will follow, but please slide into my DMs if you'd like a hand in helping us finish up the planning of this event.

In the meantime, don't make plans for Satuday, August 24, 2024.

ICYMI: Earlier this week we had to cancel our next beer festival, Drink The Cookie Table 3.

We are super bummed but the truth is that this event faced a number of challenges (rising costs, scheduling conflicts, etc). So many challenges that we were worried we couldn’t put on the same high quality event you’ve come to expect from us. With that, we decided to cancel the event.

Refunds are being issued to all ticket buyers right now and we plan to have all refunds out by Saturday. If you purchased a ticket, please keep checking your email for a refund notice. We’re about 50% through refunds right now, but it’s a very slow process.

We totally apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We’re a small team of only 3, but we’d be remiss today if we didn’t acknowledge the hardest-working 1/3 of our team, Danielle!

Danielle basically keeps the business running behind the scenes while we (Nick and I) do everything in our power to wreck the budgets (well, mainly just me there). Taxes, supplier payments, banking and keeping the merch in order daily… we couldn’t make this thing work without her!

A “for good” company with a craft beer problem.

Fueled By Hops was started in March 2019 as a small Facebook community of craft beer fans.

We’ve since grown to over 3,000 members and thus have changed our mission to “help our fellow craft beer nerds stay on top of the industry through our community, blog, social media and podcast.”

We are a “for good” company that believes in people over profits. 1% of all gross revenues, from all streams of income we generate, has been pledged to help support organizations that are working to end racial injustice and inequality. Additionally, proceeds from almost every glass we make are donated to this cause.
