We're getting ready to start the slooowest growing flower with the biggest reward. Lisianthus is loved for its rose like appearance, wide range of beautiful colors and a super long vase life. We'll be growing them in just about every shade for each of our 2025 weddings.

Most of our lisianthus for next season will be sourced in the form of established and healthy plugs from our friends at including this tried and true 'Coreli Light Pink' variety we'll be growing again next season.

Growing these flowers from seed is incredibly time-consuming, and I personally feel as though there are more meaningful things to focus time and attention on during this time of year. Next week, we'll be starting a few trays of some new-to-us varieties we'd like to trial on a small scale. Come late winter, we'll be picking up a large order of lisianthus seedlings from the Farmer Bailey team and get them all planted out in early spring.

Finally sharing Mel's summer wedding bouquet featuring our very own dahlias, cosmos, roses, feverfew and love-in-a-puff vines from FGF farm!

We love it when the flowers match the brides personality so perfectly. Bright, beautiful and SO fun! 🌸 ☀️ Mel's reaction to seeing her bouquet will live in my heart forever. A moment that inspired me to start recording our bouquet reveals and capture the very reason I pour my heart into every flower we grow and every wedding we design.

The garden is still gracing us with little gifts of autumn and I'm enjoying these couple of weeks of cutting flowers for the sole purpose of bringing them into my home (something that rarely happens during wedding season).

Our Oak Leaf Hydrangeas are putting on the most beautiful autumnal display while the Burning Bushes and Weigela are shifting into their final stage before dropping leaves. Although most of our flowers have faded by now, the Scabiosa and Rudbeckia 'Sahara' are the happier than ever, producing the looongest and strongest stems I've seen all season. They're surely pleading their case for more space in the field next season!

It's been a slow return to reality here as I get back on my feet and catch up with all things work related. Yesterday, I spent the day weeding the field and prepping the beds for the fall planting that was supposed to be done weeks ago. Today, a couple thousand seedlings will go in the ground and under frost cover for a night or two and hopefully will survive. I'm working hard to catch up to all of your emails, inquiries and proposals. Slowly but surely, we're getting there 🤍

I'm looking forward to a slow, quiet autumn and winter healing my broken heart and spending time with my family. Next season feels like light at the end of this long dark tunnel and I am truly so enthused for all the crops we'll be offering to our florist friends and all of our amazing couples who we are lucky enough to design for next year.

📸 Pictured is Phlox 'Isabellina'. Although this variety of phlox has a low, mounding growth habit, we are able to get it to grow upright with stems long enough for design work. She is a must-have for wedding design! We are so thrilled to be offering this as well as several other highly sought-after varieties of phlox next season!

As much as I don't want summer to go, this week's wholesale orders are telling me it's time to move along 🍂

The Japanese anemone are blooming (my fave!), the hydrangeas are becoming antique rose//blush, the burning bushes are in that perfect in-between stage with just the slightest tinge of burnt red and the dahlias are slooowly starting to show up to the party!

✨️garden inspired✨️

We're at a beautiful intersection of spring blooms starting to fade and summer flowers just beginning to hit their stride. All of these beauties are currently mingling in the garden and it looks sooo pretty.

The sweet peas are beginning to shut down in this extreme heat (same, guys 🫠) and some of the snapdragons and larkspur will slow down until their next flush of blooms.

Wishing I could send everyone a bundle of these sweet peas and their divine scent 🤍

Pictured is 'April in Paris' which was autumn sown last year and is far more robust and productive than any of the other varieties that I started indoors and planted out in late winter.

If all goes as planned, all of my sweet peas will be autumn sown into the high tunnel for a large early crop next spring!

I loved creating these floral combs for the bride and her sweet daughter. I get a little giddy when asked to flower something a bit outside the ordinary, and while these tiny pieces are time-consuming to create, I love how much joy they evoke when delivered. The reaction from the daughter of the bride was just priceless and will live in my mind forever 🥲🥰

The moment I spoke to this weekend's bride about her late May wedding with a peach + blush palette, I knew these 'Moonlight in Paris' roses would be a perfect compliment to her bouquet and centerpieces. They are as fragrant as they are beautiful and put on such a show as they open and evolve in color once cut. They started blooming about two weeks ago right on schedule for M + N's wedding 🤍

Happy Mother's Day to ALL of the mamas! I'm grateful to have my own incredible mom and such a special mother-in-law in my life and to be a mama to my two perfect babies.

Thank you to all the moms who lift each other up and encourage one another amidst the ups and downs along this journey through motherhood. Moms make the world go round and I'm so proud to know so many great ones. I hope today made you feel loved and appreciated in all the ways that feel best to you 🩷

Is there anything more perfect than these pendant like blooms and their sweet scent?

Lily of the Valley always blooms just in time for my mother's birthday at the very beginning of May. I'm so grateful for her ever expanding garden bed of these beauties, which will be transplanted into my spring garden this autumn.
