🍁 The first of 3 Weddings at my fave this week.

Yesterday was for this lovely couple who chose a gorgeous colour scheme of terracotta, muted golds and rust. Perfect for a November Day!!

The Cake:

The base tier finished in a terracotta “ombré “ effect to add to the theme of their day. edible Gold Leaf to add that touch of glam 🌟

Of course Ellie and Bailey 🐶 🐶 had to feature too!!

Last weekend I headed up to Birmingham to the Cake and Bake Show. What a great day mixing with so many very talented fellow cake buffs!!! I was so inspired and have come back to my kitchen full of new ideas to try out 😃. I also came back arms laden ( and pockets lighter 💰!!) with new equipment - looking forward to experimenting with them all in due course.

A 2 Tiered Wedding Cake for a lovely couple who tied the knot on a perfect day last Sunday. ☀️

Stunning blooms and gorgeous colours - fresh and dried - supplied for me by - thanks so much Helen and Lisa - I so enjoyed adding them to the cake!

Great to meet too - the perfect backdrop for my cake!!! It matched so well that it was almost in camouflage!!

🪴 Happy Monday!🪴

Let’s start the week with this Flower Pot Cake I made for a special birthday celebration at the weekend.

If I can fit in the occasional Birthday Cake I will try my best - I really wanted to make this one as I’d made my clients Wedding Cake a few years ago and since them have been asked to make cakes for the family - lovely to keep in touch!!

🍁 Autumn arrived with abundance at Clock Barn last Saturday!!! 🍁

My couple had put so much thought into all the little details and the Cake certainly wasn’t left out!!

Autumnal flavours included:
🍰Pumpkin Spice
🍰Salted Caramel | Apple Compote
🍰Citrus | Berries | Mascarpone cream
🍰Red Velvet

A ‘showstopping’ 4 Tiered Cake with a mix of finishes including - semi naked/ Buttercream / burnt orange shimmer Buttercream and edible Gold Leaf flecks for that bit of glamour!

The lovely Laura supplied me with yet another stunning selection of Autumnal Flowers and foliage - such a joy to add to the cake. Then I finished it all off with a few cut figs and blueberries tinged with gold leaf.

Then of course Murphy 🐶had pride of place - well we couldn’t leave the family pooch out could we!! A little icing addition requested by the Bride as a surprise for her new Husband - a great idea!

🩷 Staying with the bright and colourful theme 🩷

My lovely couple wanted a Cake to reflect their Wedding Day vibe - to include lots of bright colours!! Their venue Itchen Abbas Village Hall was totally transformed!!
So here we are - rainbow colours incorporated into the semi naked effect of the Cake - complete with bold bright flowers to finish supplied by - thank you.

I knew the Wedding was going to be a good one - working with these talented Wedding Suppliers -

🍓 Whatever the occasion - this one fits all!! 🍓

I made this for a gorgeous family Christening yesterday - and my client had a vision of late Summer loveliness in mind.

🍰Layer upon layer of Citrusy Lemon and Elderflower Sponge filled with fresh Berries, Mascarpone Buttercream and home made Lemon Curd.

Topped with loads of fruit and tiny flowers - thank you so much who supplied them for me - they worked a treat!!

This would be prefect too for a Summer Wedding - adding extra tiers if needed. What do you think??

🩷The Classic🩷

For Alison and Tim who had the most stunning day at Abbotstone Farmhouse recently. A beautiful location for a Wedding - very near where I live and my first visit - hopefully more to come!!

The cake was a semi naked style , elevated with a blush pink hue running through the buttercream.

The flavours:

Great combo of flavours for a very hot day.

I decorated the cake with some gorgeous blush pink and white spray roses from - thank you so much they were so lovely xx

Tom and Beth | Barford Park

My couple chose possibly the hottest day of the year recently for their stunning Wedding in the Hampshire countryside. The Barn though was lovely and cool ( to my relief!!) and there were plenty of shady areas outside too - perfect!! Such a gorgeous setting for a Wedding.

🚗 Travelling a distance in the heat is always a challenge with Cake deliveries ( and so stressful) - but my trusty cool boxes topped with air con kept my cakes as cool as the fridge 😅 - it’s always wise to stack the cakes at the venue particularly when it’s a hot day - it may take longer to set up the cake but worth it!!! The last thing you want is to reconstruct your showstopper at the venue without your kitchen kit to help.

💐Perfect florals for a Friday afternoon 🥰

Such a pleasure to be a part of T and J’s recent Wedding at . They had a gorgeous day and the Barn looked amazing with their fabulous decorations.

My Couple wanted to embrace the South African Protea - which held a special place in their hearts. So - here it is in all its glory by the side of the Cake in prime view - the Cake being dressed with stunning blush colour blooms and foliage - all supplied for me by the very talented - thank you so much - I absolutely LOVED adorning the cake with such stunning flowers 💐 xx

My couple wanted a semi naked cake finished with a vintage blue ‘hue’ - just to add a little interest to the cake. An engraved heart with my couples’ initials completed it perfectly 😍

💛 HAPPY SUNDAY 💛

I’m way behind with posting about all my lovely commissions - but just had to add this one to the grid to add some colour to your day!! Such gorgeous florals from the very talented - thank you so much Lydia for leaving me such a wonderful array of colour to add to the cake - such a joy to bring my cake to life.

My lovely Couple were married on Friday. They were so lucky with the weather - the sun shone for them and even the water wheel at the venue - which hadn’t worked for 9 years - happened to start up again that day!!! Must have been a good luck sign !! I’m always created with a warm welcome at The old Mill - Evie, Chris and the team are so helpful and it’s lovely to catch up with a chat and a coffee - thank you so much it means such a lot to us suppliers when we’re made to feel part of the team 🩷.

My couple chose a 2 Tier Cake - finished with buttercream and a horizontal lined effect around the base tier. They gave me free rein on the decor - and when I saw the gorgeous florals I just had to make the most of them with a statement diagonal design across the front of the cake. Hope you like it!

It was such a joy to make this gorgeous Wedding Cake for my very talented friend Helen who runs - gorgeous flowers for that special occasion. Do try it!!

🤍 Saturday 29th July 2023 🤍

For Owen and Becky - a very special couple who had such a fabulous Wedding celebration on a sunny July day ( one of the few!!!) at recently.

A mix of nerves and excitement for this one - as I not only had the pleasure of making their showstopper - but also got to eat it too!!! No pressure!!! I have to say the Red Velvet with white chocolate ganache filling was my fave ( although I say it myself!!).

I have known these two for a few years now - Owen keeps me fit and sane at my ‘second home’ - of which he is the proud owner. No mean feat starting a business during lockdown and he has made such a success of it - so proud of him!! 👍🏻

Anyway back to the Cake 🍰- here are the yummy flavours they chose:
