This doesn't just affect "creatives." We pay rent, eat, buy gas for our cars. Our patrons eat out nearby and buy merch produced by local tee shirt shops and printers. We buy supplies like lumber, paint, electric cords, fabric and everything you see in an artwork or production. None of this happens when the arts and culture organizations can't pay us. There is still no state funding for Arts and Culture in Florida. Please, I beg you to pay attention to this! It will cost the state billions, not just in dollars generated by the arts but in loss of businesses, because who wants to bring employees to a state with nothing to do?!? No zoos, museums, aquariums, history centers, opera, ballet, children's chorus, and on and on. Contact your reps to protest. Demand they override the veto. Donate to the arts. So Florida is still languishing with zero funding for arts and culture! I dedicated my career to helping produce high quality performances for. This is a slap in my face. I'm actively searching for full time work in my industry outside this state because I can't afford food, much less shelter unless the Arts are funded. Over 200,000 people are losing income because of this. The entire state is losing billions for lack of a 32 million dollar investment.

There are 4 fringe festivals in the state. Compared to over 600 other professional organizations and 30 community. And Fringe is why Desatan vetoed the arts????? Fringe is a wonderful incubator for the performing arts. But, opera lovers don't get Turandot because Fringe exists? Ballet lovers, sorry folks, no love for you, people might dance in leotards while upside down at Fringe!!! His fear will destroy our economy, the one that already lags behind the national...

I love the band for Next to Normal Not only are they a fantabulous band, but they're great humans too. One of them saw me coming today and hit the automatic door button so both doors dramatically opened for my entrance as the human alarm clock. (For those who don't know, part of stage management is alerting cast and crew how long we have until the show starts, thus, human alarm clock. Lol) Come hear them play and see a great show at the same time!

Another brand new piano pic. So shiny it's a mirror, the coating is polyester! Got a little private extra encore when Keith Arsenault invited Teresa Ancaya to play after the show. I kept half expecting fog to roll out because of the Swan Lake blue lighting for the evening. 😉
