At the start of this party set up, we unpacked everything and organized dry food in one room, cold food in the fridge and decor in the other room.

Once it was all organized, we started pulling decor and setting that up. Once it was all finished, we started prepping the food.

If you’ve ever been part of an events team, you know the steps you put in are no joke!

There was a season when I needed to take the smaller jobs, work within tighter budgets, try new things, gain experience, and build my portfolio. That season taught me so much, and I am genuinely grateful for it.

But I have also grown enough to know what kind of work I want to take on now.

When someone asks if they can order all of the materials from Amazon and just pay me to put everything together, the answer is no.

Not because I think I’m above anyone’s budget, but because you are not hiring me just for my hands. You are hiring me for my ideas, experience, design eye, sourcing, planning, problem-solving, installation, and the years it took to learn how to bring an event together.

I do not want to simply assemble someone else’s cart.

I want to create.

At this point in my business, I want to work with people who respect the amount of work that goes into delivering an event and who actually want the creativity and expertise I bring to it.

There are plenty of great options for every budget, and I truly believe everyone should choose what works for them.

But I finally understand that I do not have to be the right fit for everyone.

I just need to be the right fit for the people who value what I do. đŸ€

This event was so fun to bring to life!! Literally EVERY SINGLE DETAIL - we made from scratch!!!!!

For a long time, being called a “balloon artist” made me uncomfortable.

Not because there was anything wrong with the title, but because I knew some people heard “balloons” and thought: a clown, a cute little side gig, just another girl on Facebook trying to make quick money.

So when someone said, “You do those little balloon things, right?” what I heard was, “This isn’t serious. This is just a hobby.”

But they couldn’t see what I could see yet.
They didn’t see the hours spent learning color placement, proportions, structure, installation, design, logistics, and pricing. They didn’t see the vision I had for Honey Events or how much it meant to create something from nothing and bring someone’s idea to life.

Somewhere along the way, my perspective finally changed.

Now, when someone calls me a balloon artist, I own it. Yup, sure am! 🎈

I am an event artist, and this setup feels especially meaningful. Every year, I get to create the balloons and photo booth for this elementary school’s art show.

As a former teacher, I love that my work still allows me to stay connected to children and schools. There is something full-circle about using my creativity to help celebrate theirs.

So yes, I’m an artist, and I’m finally proud to say exactly what kind. 🎹🎈

For a long time, I did not know how to answer that confidently... without being offended, quite frankly.

When I first started Honey Events, being called a “balloon artist” made me so uncomfortable. Not because there is anything wrong with the title, but because of the way I knew how some people saw this business.

I tknew some people heard “balloons” and pictured something silly. A clown. A cute little side gig. Just another girl on Facebook. Another girl trying to make quick money on Instagram. Something fun, but not something serious.

And because I already had those insecurities in my own mind, every little comment felt bigger.

“Oh, you do those little balloon things, right?”

To someone else, it may have been an innocent question. But what I heard was, “This is small. This isn’t real. This is a joke. This is just a hobby.”

The truth is, no one could see what I could see yet.

They couldn’t see the vision I had for Honey Events. They couldn’t see the hours spent learning proportions, color placement, structure, installation, design, logistics, pricing, and all of the work that happens long before the first balloon ever goes up.

They couldn’t see how much it meant to me to take an empty space and turn it into something that makes people stop, smile, celebrate, and remember a moment.

For me, this was never just about balloons.

It was about building something of my own. It was about creating a business that could grow with my life and my family. It was about taking an idea that existed only in my head and working until other people could finally see it too.

And somewhere along the way, my perspective FINALLY changed.

Now, when someone calls me a balloon artist, I don’t shrink from it.

I own it. Yup, sure am!

I am an event artist. I specialize in using color, shape, scale, and design to bring someone’s vision to life. I create something out of nothing, and I think that is pretty special.

This particular setup makes that title feel even more meaningful.

Every year, I get to create the balloons and photo booth for this elementary school’s art show. As a former teacher, I love that my work still gives me opportunities to stay connected to children and schools. And there is something really full-circle about using my own creativity to help celebrate theirs.

This is a day when these students get to proudly show the world what they made, how they think, and what they imagined. I get to create a small part of the environment that tells them their art is worth displaying and celebrating.

So yes, I’m an artist.

And I’m finally proud to say exactly what kind. 🎹🎈
