Spring is moving so quickly! This week will be the last bouquets of the spring subscription. And my short little season will be wrapping up. Here are a couple images from week 2 to kick off your Monday with flowers!
11/04/2024
Last Friday the O’Flora Spring Bouquet Subscription started for 2024! It is hard to believe that this is my fourth spring of flower farming (and fifth year). Farming is not for the faint of heart, but every spring when I see these beautiful blooms, I (mostly) forget the hard work that takes place in the fall and over the winter to usher this beauty into the world.
If you want some of O’Flora’s flowers, make sure to drop by Down To Earth on Fridays after 11am. There will be beauty waiting for you there tomorrow.

These are a few of my favorite things... 🎁 Do you have a person on your gifting list that is impossible to buy for? Who doesn’t need more stuff? Well, in a couple of clicks, you can cross that name off of your list by gifting them the 2024 Spring Bouquet Subscription from O’Flora.
I really should call it a Floral Prescription because flowers improve people’s moods, elevate the energy in a room, and just make people smile. Who doesn’t want that?
You’ll be gifting five weeks of spring bouquets, each week unique in colors and blooms. Choose either delivery (availability is limited) or pick-up at on Fridays. The anticipated start date is early April 2024.
Gorgeous harvest on a rainy October morning. The dahlias and I were so grateful for the warmth and sunshine over the weekend!
27/09/2023
A little dahlia, will do ya? My dahlia field from last year has been reduced by a third and is now called a "patch." Unfortunately, I had to start over with a lot of varieties and a lot of them aren't my favorites. Doh! Its always a process to grow new varieties and see how they perform. Still, I love them.
And although I'm not selling dahlias this season, I am busily preparing for spring! Yes, spring, that season that feels so far off isn't that far off in the flower world. I've got limited windows to get everything prepped so that I can have gorgeous flowers for you in about six months!

It's officially fall and that means it is dried flower season. You can find these bright beauties at Farm Fancy in Coburg.

I couldn't let spring pass by without squeezing in a photo shoot of me with my ranunculus. If we haven't met before, I'm Krista and this is my fourth year farming. I just wrapped up my third spring season and it was a strange one at that.
After a cold, wet winter, it seemed like spring took forever to arrive. I couldn't safely start my spring bouquet subscription until the second week of April, and even then, I barely had any extra flowers to sell to florists.
But then we had a little heat wave, as I feared we would, and everything bloomed, everywhere, all at once. It was more abundance than I could handle, and honestly, the last month or so has been a blur of harvesting, taking inventory, and trying to get flowers into the hands of those who appreciate them. Working with a perishable product is magical because of its ephemeral nature, but it is also the part that stresses me out the most!
And now I'm boarding a flight to whisk me away to another kind of work that will honestly feel like a vacation after all the long, physical hours spent in the field these past few months. If I didn't love those flowers so dang much, I would easily walk away from the farm because it is the hardest thing I've ever done.
But the spring catalogs for 2024 are already in my inbox and new varieties are calling my name. I feel so spoiled to have gotten to fill my eyes and arms with so much beauty these past few months. If you received my flowers, I hope you felt their magic and appreciated their short, gorgeous lives. Know that I touched every single stem and am grateful that you could know their beauty too.
Because spring is my primary season, there will be a lot less happening on the farm for the rest of the year, but I'll be around!

Today is the last of the Spring Bouquet Subscription for Tuesday folks! They are getting this vibrant bouquet filled with lilac, some adorable 'pink petticoat' columbine, ranunculus, and purple fringe tulips. The photos don't really show off all the heaps of purple lilac blossoms hiding in those bouquet sleeves, but be prepared for a whiff of heaven!
There is one extra bouquet posted in the online shop. Snag it before 1030am!
And stay tuned for Mother's Day offerings. I'm working on that after deliveries today.
05/05/2023
Today's spring subscription bouquets are ready to head into town! What should we call these pinky, purply beauties? I love to name each color palette. Right now I want to call them "Marie Antoinette" because all the ranunculus buds look like fancy French macarons and surely Marie would have worn something like exotic parrot tulips and dogwood branches in her hair.
Pick-up is available at after 11am and deliveries happen before noon.
What would you name these bouquets?
PS One extra is available in the shop....claim it before 1030am and it is yours!
02/05/2023
Ooh, I kinda want to keep all of these for myself! I’m in love with these colors…bright yet soft with the salmon. Do you love them? And are you one of the lucky subscribers getting your bouquet today?

Happy May Day! When I was a little girl, on May 1st I would go to my grandma's house and put flowers on her neighbor's doors, ring the bell, and run away in delight at the anticipation of someone opening up the door to surprise flowers. Then, I'd ask Grandma to pretend that she didn't know I was there so I could deliver flowers to her door. How ironic that years later I get to drop flowers at people's doors all the time to delight them with beauty!
Here are some virtual May Day bouquets that I'm hanging here for your delight. I always love to know which color palettes are your favorites! The first two are last week's subscription bouquets, and the others have been going to or to my amazing dance community.
And if you hadn't noticed, NOW is the best time for local spring flowers. I have the online shop stocked and ranunculus bunches are on sale through Friday!
27/04/2023
Want to peek behind the curtain? Here is what it looks like under my low tunnels and inside my high tunnel. They are filled with a sea of colorful ranunculus buds. I staggered my plantings so that I wouldn't be totally inundated with flowers, but nature does its thing! Some of the colors I planted in January are starting to bloom before those planted in December. Regardless, It is beautiful out there and I'm happy to be swimming in a sea of my favorite flowers.
PS Ranunculus bunches are available in the online shop for tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday! I really love today's colors. They somehow feel tropical to me. I think that the Sir Winston Churchill narcissus, which smells divine, looks a bit like frangipani blossoms. These beauties are heading out to be dropped at your front doors or at by 11am. At the moment, I do have one extra bouquet available! Snag it before 1030!
If you are wanting a floral fix, order now for this Friday. The warm weather is causing the field to explode and I'll be listing more items daily. I already have ranunculus bunches listed. If you've never experienced locally grown ranunculus, give it a try. They usually last for up to two whole weeks with proper care and they are insanely gorgeous, but I'm biased because they are my favorite (and for good reason!).

Happy Flower Friday to today's spring bouquet subscribers! These red, white, and yellow babes feature poppies and are heading off the farm shortly. Most of the poppies haven't yet popped out of their furry shells, but when they do, just wow! You can always peel them off too. ;)
Pick-up happens after 11am at and deliveries drop before noon.
Also, I just opened up a few slots for the remaining 3 weeks of the subscription! This will be for Fridays, pick-up only, at Down To Earth or at my farm, starting Friday, April 28th.
And you can also purchase bouquets (different to the subscription bouquets) at Down To Earth....early birds get the pick of the bunches.

Today’s subscription bouquets were juicy! And, people, those red ranunculus are going to burst into such big fluffy blooms. I promise if they haven’t stolen your hearts yet, they will. ❤️
17/04/2023
I never posted Friday's Spring Bouquet Subscription photos! Friday's subscriptions were bright and cheery with lots of yellow and a few pops of pink.
If you missed out on the subscription, I just posted a few extra mixed bouquets available for tomorrow. I'll also list a tulip offering today by 2pm! Check the website again on Thursday for Friday flowers. Thank you!
11/04/2023
The first of the Tuesday Spring Bouquet Subscriptions are literally heading out the door right now! If you're signed up for pick-up, head to after 11am to get your blooms, otherwise, I'll be knocking on your doors soon.
These bouquets are filled with tulips, ranunculus, narcissus, spirea, and flowering quince. They are just about to open up into their full glory and spring subscribers are in for a gorgeous show! Happy spring!

The flowers are coming in like a lamb.....and soon will explode like a lion! All this cold, wet weather has made the start of my spring season very sllllllllooooooooooowwwwww. But, tomorrow the first of the Spring Bouquet Subscriptions will head out the door! If you're a Tuesday subscriber, expect a reminder from me later today in your inbox.
If you don't have a subscription, I'll soon be listing individual bouquets available for sale on my website. I'll have them listed by 2 pm the day before they are available for pick-up (at Down To Earth) or delivery. That means you should look at my website on Mondays for Tuesday flowers and Thursdays for Friday flowers. But, sorry, I don't have extras yet for tomorrow, but I will for Friday.

FLOWER FRIDAY: RANUNCULUS 💕 Ok, ok, I shouldn't say I have a favorite, but I have a favorite. I fell hard for the fluffy, puffy, frilly gorgeousness of the ranunculus last year when I decided to grow 700 of them for the first time. 🤪 Thank goodness it turned out well and I'm smitten. Not only do ranunculus blooms last a long time in the vase, they also dry beautifully!✨ Are you ridiculous for ranunculus too? #ranunculus #springflowers #spring #flowers #flowerfarmer #beauty
What's new? These dried floral wreaths with a vintage-inspired color palette, that's what! Pop into my online shop to find the perfect match for your home. Free local delivery is included in the Eugene/Springfield area. #driedwreath #driedflowers #wreath #florist
My favorite springtime arrangements from 2021 in 30 seconds! Right now the flowers are putting down deep roots to explode into a profusion of beauty in a few more months. I can’t wait! #flowers #oflorafarms #florals

Nice to meet you!
Hello, I’m Krista, the farmer-florist behind O’Flora.
I’m a second-generation Oregonian growing specialty cut flowers on the land that I grew up on in the Willamette Valley. Although I have traveled far and wide, I’m always proud to call Oregon home.
I suspect that my love of flowers came from my Grandma Mary. Her garden was always awash in flowers, from her hanging fuchsia baskets to the bearded iris that made statements in the spring. She had a knack for artfully placing flowers into arrangements in her home and I believe she passed that talent onto me. For many years now, I’ve been daydreaming about having a cut flower farm.
You should also know that for the past fifteen years, my lifestyle hasn’t exactly allowed for even a garden. I lived in the concrete jungle (it is actually a lovely city to live in, politics aside!) of Washington, DC, for seven years while I worked at National Geographic. And for the last seven years working as a freelance travel photographer, I’ve seen more of the world than my own home.
In the midst of assignments to far-flung locales, I discovered Floret, a flower farm in Washington State who was spreading the love of locally grown flowers through education. I was hoping to attend their in-person flower farm workshops, if only my hectic schedule would make the timing right. So when Floret’s online workshop came out, I decided I’d go through the course from wherever I was in the world and see if I was ready to try flower farming myself, assuming I would ever be home long enough to tend to plants.
Cut to March 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic slammed the brakes on my career as a travel photographer. As I lost one contract after another, I realized that as painful as it was to lose work that I loved to do, my calendar was magically opening up to other possibilities….of finally putting seeds into the soil.
Launching a flower farm in the midst of a pandemic came with its own set of challenges, but fast forward to today and I can almost forget about waiting through shipping delays for seeds and supplies when I see the beauty unfurling before me.
And I’m so happy to be sharing the beauty and joy of flowers with you. I sell bouquets and make specialty arrangements for clients in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. If you’re in my neighborhood, pop over to my online flower shop to fill your home with my blooms.
My flower journey is just getting growing and I hope you follow along.
And don’t worry, my photography career isn’t going away….I just might need an assistant to fill in from time to time. Any volunteers?
