Welcome to OH KY Events Limited!

My name is Karla Yparraguirre - Founder, CEO, social media manager, stylist and all of the above. I am a 98' baby born in the Philippines and now resides in Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa since 2009.

My main industry background is in hospitality, and built my way up to become a Function Manager back in 2018 at the good ol' Little Easy in Ponsonby. I've learnt a majority of my event experience through that role - late night & long hours, problem solving, admin work etc.

NZ Lockdown in August 2020 was when OH KY Events Limited was created. KY stands for my name initials, the OH was just an expression to seperate my brand from the amazing KY jelly lubricant (lol) . Even with my hospitality background, OH KY Events started with almost close to no experience at event styling - but hey, we all have to start somewhere right?

For every experience and event, it has been nothing short of challenging, fun & exciting. OH KY Events to me is my FREEDOM. Its my space to be creative, to learn, to make mistakes, to succeed, to fail, work at my own pace, but most importantly it's what I can call mine.

I am so excited & grateful to those who have supported me in this incredible business journey. Moreover, I am more excited to continue meeting new people, styling events & being a part of turning your event vision into a picture perfect reality.
