I have serious hear eyes for this long veil! 😍😍😍
ICYMI This week I launched my third FREE resource for the organized bride (or anyone else involved in planning)! Head over to on Pinterest and hit follow so you don't miss any new resources!
The new Wedding Registry Checklist will help you figure out what to register for and make sure you aren't missing anything from your list. I recommend registering for your gifts before your Save the Dates go out so that your guests can head to your registries as soon as they receive your Save the Date when it is fresh on their mind. If you have a shower or party before your Save the Dates go out, remember to register before those invitations go out so your guests know what gifts to get you!🤩

This elegant dark & stormy shot is a major mood for this overcast day in Austin.☁️🌫
Last Wednesday I talked about the importance of a rain plan ☔️ and thinking about weather if you are planning an outdoor ceremony or reception. Today I wanted to give some ideas for if rain is not an issue but it might be a little chilly or warm outside on your wedding day. Use some or all of these ideas to keep your guests comfortable in the great outdoors.
If it might by warm ☀️:
- print your programs on thick cardstock and stick it to handles for a hand fan
- have ice water out before your ceremony, see if you can add cucumber or lemon to make it a more refreshing "spa water" 🍋
- rent large industrial fans or a tent to give your guests a breeze or shade
If it might be chilly ❄️:
- have shawls out in baskets or draped over chairs for guests to use and take home 🧣
- have hot tea or cider out before your ceremony for guests to hold and sip on to keep warm ☕️
- rent large heaters to have outdoors .

Stunning portrait!
Each Monday, I encourage you to really think about the love that is surrounding you and have fun and enjoy your engagement! It is such a special and unique time to soak up all the love. 💕💕 This week I want to remind you to do some pampering for yourself and your honey. 🧖🏼‍♀️🧖🏻‍♂️ Your engagement is a fantastic excuse to show your skin and muscles a little extra love! Keep yourselves relaxed and stress-free with frequent massages, facials and/or manicures and pedicures! Go to the professionals or stock up on DIY supplies for a spa night. 💆🏼‍♀️💆🏻‍♂️ My personal faves are and

You’ve got the love of your life and the 💍 - Once you’ve booked your venue and set your date, you’ve got the most important thing on lock down. Next, you want to make sure you start researching photographers 📷, band or DJs 🎶 and florists 💐. These are the next vendors that book up pretty far in advance so you want to get these booked as early as you can. .
Start a list of vendors in your area ( and local bride mags like are great resources! - your venue should also have a preferred vendor list for reference) Then use a spreadsheet to track outreach & availability and compare price, packages, etc. You also want to make sure you vibe with the vendors - you want people you trust and put you at ease to be surrounding you on your wedding day 💕 .
What’s your wedding style? Rustic, natural, modern, romantic, classic, tropical, etc? Tell me in the comments 🤩.

Will you hire a planner for your big day? Tell me in the coments!
You have a few options for professional help while planning your wedding:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Planners can be hired at any point in the planning process and will jump in and help you with your vision, vendor management, contract review, to do's, timelines, onsite day-of and everything in between. Planners are great for brides that don't have a lot of time or interest in getting into the nitty-gritty planning details.
Coordinators typically come in towards the end (around a month out) and review your contracts, create your full timeline, take over vendor relationships and manage day-of activities and set-up onsite. Coordinators are great for brides who want to plan their own wedding but do not want to be hands-on or have friends/family setting up on the wedding day.
If you are planning your own wedding but want some advice or additional help but don't need a full-blown planner, consider a wedding consultant (like me!) to pay by the hour for questions/consultation or one-off projects.
Which will you choose? .

Swooning over everything in this shot! 🥰
Will you take bridal portraits? Bridal portraits usually come from a private session with your photographer about a month before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to print and frame any photos that you want displayed at your reception. You will have much more time to get shots of you in your dress than you would on your wedding day and it is a wonderful opportunity to see how everything will look on your wedding day! 👰🏼
A few things to remember for your bridals:
- make sure your alterations will be done in time. Let your salon or alterations place know when your portraits are scheduled and they will help you schedule your fittings accordingly.
- remember to include a bouquet and hair/makeup for your bridal portraits in your budgeting (this is a great time to schedule trials with your hair and makeup artists to fine-tune your day-of look)
- have all your jewelry and accessories picked out including shoes, earrings and veil .

Outdoor weddings are becoming more and more popular and I'm loving it! Are you getting married indoors or outdoors? Tell me in the comments! 💕
If you are planning for all or part of your ceremony or reception to be outdoors, remember to consider weather - especially rain. If it is likely to be warm or cold, consider having some heaters or fans on hand to help your guests feel comfortable. 💃🏼
But the big thing to consider is your rain plan! ☔️ If your venue has space to move your ceremony or reception inside, that is perfect - sometimes this will require a flip of the room between your ceremony and reception during cocktail hour. Planning for the floorplan and the timeline needed for the rain plan and possible flip is vital to making sure your wedding still goes smoothly if you need to change up the plans because of weather. And if you don't end up needing it, going with your plan A is fantastic, but better safe than sorry. If your venue does not have room to accommodate your ceremony or reception indoors, don't fret! You can easily have a tent reserved just in case. Eliminate stress by making sure you and your team of vendors are prepared for anything! 🌦 .

Congratulations again on finding the love of your life!! Once you are engaged, cards, gifts and sweet notes pour in and it is a time where you are constantly reminded of all the love that surrounds you. 💕
I suggest keeping a box or a ring of all your engagement cards and notes! You can find a fun box to gather all the letters of congratulations and well wishes or you can get a hole punch and an index card ring to string them all together. These letters and cards are so special and will be fun to look back on in the future as a reminder of how fun celebrating your engagement and wedding was. 💌

Loving this cap-sleeve dress! 😍
is a wonderful place to gather inspiration for your wedding vision! If you're like me, you have hundreds of pins for inspiration. TIP: segment your wedding board into sections for each vendor. That way when your florist asks for ideas for your bouquets and centerpieces, you can link straight to the floral section of your board so your flower inspo is all together instead of scrolling through bridesmaids dress, signature cocktails, and any other inspo you have gathered!
I've created different boards to help you with and discover your vision for your wedding! Link in bio. Psst.. I also gather in my highlights on insta from some other rockstar wedding accounts!

What dress code will you choose for your wedding? Tell me in the comments! 💃🏼🤵🏻
Remember to consider your venue, food, what the wedding party is wearing and your vision for your wedding when deciding on dress code to make sure the feel is cohesive and matches. While there are lots of options for getting extra fancy or festive with your dress code, here are the standard options:
- Black Tie (tuxes & floor length or fancy cocktail dresses)
- Formal or Black Tie Optional (formal suit or tux & floor length or fancy cocktail dress)
- Semi-Formal (suit and tie & cocktail dress or nice pants suit)
- Casual (dress pants and collared shirt, jacket optional & sundresses or pants suits)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can get more specific or creative with your dress code if you are having a beach or destination wedding or even a themed or costumed wedding!

Tag someone who has made you feel extra special this week. Remember to thank all your loved ones that have helped make your engagement and wedding so special!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tracking your gifts for thank you notes is vital to keep you sane when you have hundreds of thank you notes to write for gifts, showers and other hosted events. 💌 Remember to send your mom and MOH a special note for all their help! Having a spreadsheet where you track what gift you got, who it is from, who will write the thank you note, and the status of the thank you note is immensely helpful when you've received hundreds of gifts! Linking these records to your address book and guest list are crazy helpful too so you don't have to hunt too far for addresses during the thank you note process! 💕

What jewelry will you be wearing on your wedding day? ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you have your dress, it's time to choose what jewelry (besides that shiny new wedding band of course) you will be wearing on your wedding day. Jewelry and your other accessories can rack up quite a cost, but here are some tips to save money on your wedding jewelry:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Make your jewelry your "something borrowed" from your friends or family
- Poshmark is a great place to get jewelry at a reduced cost
- Rent your jewels from somewhere like Rent The Runway
- Etsy is a wonderful place to find hand-crafted jewelry⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Wear jewelry you already own⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Let's talk about your sweet soon-to-be hubby! Depending on what your groomsmen will wear, sometimes it's easy for your groom's attire to look similar and not stand out, especially if they are all wearing dark suits or tuxes. Having your groom wear something different or have a special accessory is a great way to differentiate your groom and make him feel extra special! 🤵🏻
Some ideas to make groom extra special and stand out a bit:
- different colored suit or tux jacket/vest
- different colored tie or suspenders
- a boutonniere with a different flower
- a personalized pocket square
- a personalized cummerbund
If your honey wants to blend in, some ideas to make him feel a little extra special without the flash are fun socks, personalized cuff links, a new watch or a simple pocket square with a sweet embroidered note. 💕
How will you celebrate your honey? Tell me in the comments! .

What will be your exit getaway vehicle? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Traditionally limos or fun cars are used as getaway cars for the bride and groom after their exit, but there are many more options if that is not quite your style! I've seen boats, horses, golf carts, ski lifts, carriages, motorcycles and more! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some things to consider when choosing your getaway vehicle are: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(1) your venue. Do they have restrictions, do they offer any vehicles, what goes with the vibe?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(2) Do you need a driver and how far are you going? Some people do a symbolic getaway where they drive just out of eyesight and then switch to a more reasonable vehicle and some take them all the way to their accommodations for the night.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(3) Is there a family car or vehicle that is meaningful?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And of course, always remember to consider your budget for all vendors :)

This forehead kiss is giving me all the feels! 💋💕

When planning your wedding, determining your vision is key. Vision boards are my all time favorite part of planning! Gathering photos from Instagram and Pinterest are so helpful, but it is important to keep an open mind when meeting with your vendors that will help your dreams come to life. These vendors are pros and have done this many more times than you and have valuable experience points to lean on. Having photos you can share with them are so important, but being open to listening to their suggestions is just as important. Definitely honor your vision for your big day, but be open to hearing what is realistic or what sometimes works better to achieve your vision from your vendors and trust in their experience. This is why choosing vendors you trust and love their style is so important!

Vendors: any other tips for achieving a beautiful vision for these brides? Tell us in the comments!

Reminder: Don’t let your engagement be taken over by wedding planning. I challenge you to plan a date this week for you and your honey that has nothing to do with planning.

Some date night ideas:
- Cook a nice dinner at home together

- DIY wine and cheese tastings/pairings
- At home movie night with popcorn and movie theater candy
- Get a Couples Massage
- Take a cooking class
- Go on a hike
- Go out to dinner or get tickets to a show
- Attend a local sporting event or farmer's market

What's you and your honey's favorite date night?

Your wedding is a blending of your lives and your families. Gathering nostalgic items from your past or family members to have with you day-of is such a special way to personalize your wedding. Some special details include old cake toppers, a family veil, locket or other jewelry, garters, nice cake tools, heirloom pins, champagne flutes, handkerchiefs, a sixpence, and anything else that is special to you or a family member.
Can't think of anything? Start asking around to your families and you might learn of a hand-me-down you didn't know the story behind!

Swooning over this engagement shot! 🥰
After you have chosen your photographer, you will want to schedule your engagement photos so you can incorporate them into your wedding website and have the option to use one or more of your photos for your save the dates! You have a few options for choosing your photo session locations. 📸
- Your Venue: Most venues allow access to the venue prior to your wedding for a one or two hour time-frame to take engagement photos or bridal portraits. 💒
- A Special Place: Do you and your honey have a special outdoor location? A park, a place with a beautiful skyline view of your city, or even a family ranch are places that would be beautiful for photos and have special meaning to you and your fiance!
- Somewhere Pretty: If neither of the above options are for you, do some research for beautiful fields or parks in your area or ask your photographer for recommendations!

Whether you let your groomsmen wear their own tux or pick a matching tux or suit for them to wear, there are fun accessories you can get them to personalize their look. 🤵🏻Some ideas are matching suspenders, monogrammed handkerchiefs, fun socks, cuff links or even new personalized ties and cummerbunds. Are you considering doing an outfit change on your wedding day? Let me know in the comments! 🥰

Some brides change their outfit between the ceremony and reception with a completely new dress, removal of a layer or changing their hairstyle when the veil comes off and it's time for dinner and dancing! I ended up changing my earrings between my ceremony and reception for lighter "party-earrings". These changes are by no means necessary, just something to consider to make sure you feel your most beautiful and comfortable. 👰🏼💕

Other outfit changes occur at the end of your reception or right before your exit to a shorter cocktail-style dress (“exit outfit”) that is easier to dance and travel in.

One thing to remember if you are considering an outfit change, is to make sure you consider when your photos are scheduled to make sure you capture photos of the outfits you want. 🤗

What accessories will you wear on your wedding day? Tell me in the comments! 💕

Once you've gotten your dress and veil, it's time to start thinking about accessories for you and your honey. Incorporating nostalgia like old handkerchiefs, garters, jewelry or pins are a special way to honor family history or those who could not be with you on your special day. ❤️ Getting new accessories like watches, earrings, and shoes can be a fun way to show a little more of your style and personality with your attire (whether statement, understated or somewhere in between).
