6 things to help keep children entertained at a wedding 👇🏻

1. Garden Games - perfect for the drinks reception, and usually the adults join in!

2. A Children-Only Area - think cosy corner… tee pees, cushions, fairy lights, games and snacks.

3. Entertainment Packs - perfect to occupy them during the wedding meal. Fill them with quizzes, stickers and Lego… anything to keep them busy!

4. Mini Photographers - give all the children a disposable camera and a list of photo ideas, and let them be snap happy!

5. Hire a Babysitter - if your budget allows, hire someone to come along and help entertain the children, whilst the parents enjoy some well-earned adult time!

6. And finally, Let Them Be Children! If your venue has nice gardens, let them run, skip, and play. It’s the best way to burn their energy.

What will the planning process look like? How many meetings will we have, and how will we be involved?

The planning process begins immediately after paying your deposit. We will begin the planning by introducing you to the online client portal where we keep track of all planning details and discuss your wedding budget. From there, we will focus on small areas so that it is nice and laid back and you can enjoy the whole process. Sometimes we'll be on a roll and get a lot done rather quickly, and sometimes planning will go a little slower - it's all a normal part of the planning process. You are in good hands and I will keep planning on track.

I tell all my couples they can be as involved in the planning as they want. Some couples prefer me to take the reins and give them weekly updates, others would like to be copied into every email, attend all meetings and be really involved. It is whatever the couple would prefer!

THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS TO GET MARRIED IN SCOTLAND 👇🏼

Certain legal requirements must be met in order to get married in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

- You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under the age of 18, you will need parental permission

- You need to notify the registrar in the district where you intend to marry. This notice must be given at least 29 days before the wedding and no more than three months before the wedding.

- At your wedding ceremony, you will need two witnesses.

- You must provide the registrar with certain documents, such as birth certificates, passports, or other forms of identification, and, if applicable, evidence of divorce or annulment.

- At least 7 days before the wedding, you must obtain a marriage schedule from the registrar. Both partners, witnesses, and the celebrant must sign this document.

- In Scotland, you can get married in either a religious or civil ceremony. An authorised celebrant must lead the ceremony.

- It is important to note that additional requirements may apply depending on your specific circumstances, such as whether you are a foreign national or have previously been married.
