We focus on natural, expressive and sustainably minded floral compositions for all celebrations across West Michigan. In the winter months we offer holiday flowers delivered to our local Holland and Saugatuck customers through our virtual shop found on our website. May to October 2022 we will be offering weekly designs and subscriptions to customers and businesses in our area.
It’s Queen Anne’s Lace season! July has been a good, beautiful month, a bit of a blur. Grateful for all our customers and clients and to get to have such full days of flowers and good people. Our website was giving us some trouble with online orders- pleased shop in person on Thursday and Fridays.
Along with Queen Anne’s lace, dahlias, sunflowers, cosmos, mint, and more are in the shop while supplies last.
Summer studio hours: Thursday & Friday 11-6
We encourage you to preorder online for the best value/design.
Please note we will not have studio hours on Saturday this year. On Saturdays we will be setting up a wedding, hosting a workshop (you should sign up for our email list for more info) or at the beach relaxing. 🌊

Our Mother’s Day shop is live with three seasonal color palettes, local delivery and options- bunches, mixed bouquets and vase designs along with two pick up locations, our studio in Douglas and in Holland next Saturday! There is a fundraiser component too which will get its own post soon, details are on the website.
We really appreciate preorders and will be taking a limited number of deliveries (looking at you former windflower couples with family in the area).
For our DIY fans we encourage you to select something that catches your eye for the bulk of your blooms and then we can add a few stems to personalize it at the studio. We go shopping once for the week so please get your orders in soon.
PS- It took a bit to build out this web-shop and we are very optimistic and value your interest, orders and feedback as we step up our game this season with delivery and a web shop for daily blooms. 💛💛

🚗 We also have delivery to the south side of Holland, Saugatuck, Douglas available for Saturday afternoon. Space is limited on our delivery route. Delivery will be $12, vase designs only.

Our Spring Sale starts tomorrow! To celebrate international women’s day we are doing a little BOGO sale tomorrow- come shop the studio 12-6! Sale will be on tulips and select spring colored taper candles. It’ll be buy one get one free! For both! We are swimming in tulips this week and these candy colored taper candles are just so perfect for March. Keep both of them for yourself, or gift them to a friend and help us make room for other exciting inventory this summer.

Our overall style for Valentine’s Day this year is a bit classic mixed with some fun colors to brighten up your homes. Think poppy and apple reds, shades of pink, purple and peach, a touch of white and whatever foliages catch our eye.
We decided to sketch out our concepts and leave the actual color/flower combos up to what feels right shopping on Monday. I love a good photo of what we are offering, but in February, this is preferred. We hope you can see the vision and trust us to create for your sweetheart or yourself!
We will be open Tuesday & Wednesday 11-6. The DIY bar will have a simple, lovely, curated assortment of stems too. Lots of homegrown Tulips will be available!

A few holiday flower tips
1. If you get sap on your hands, rub olive oil on them and then wash with warm water and soap. The Oil lifts the sap off your skin.
2. Top off or refill water every two days. If it’s easy to give the stems a fresh cut, do so. If not, that’s ok too.
3. If you want to extend your flowers vase life, put them in a cool spot at night, a basement, breezeway or attached garage that stays above 37 is great.
4. In general do not leave flowers by a heat source for extended periods.
5. If a flower has wilted in the design, pull it out and keep enjoying the rest. Some blooms fade faster than others, don’t be afraid to move stems around to fill the “holes” left by faded flowers.
6. If you are enjoying an all winter greens/pine design, spritz with water to help the pine hydrate, they absorb water through the stem and “leaves”

A little quiet on here, life lately is a steady, good, juggling act preparing for the real cold & snow.
Shop: I stopped by the shop today to drop off some dried flowers for next weeks holiday hours, Thursday, Friday & Saturday! I’m very excited for our thoughtful holiday designs coming soon. if you are on our email list check your inbox.
Weddings: if you are interested in our services please fill out the inquiry form on our website soon. We want to get the process started before we all head off to gatherings, and baking and being cozy. Having our 2024 menu and guide in your inbox and ready to share with friends and family over the holidays makes planning easy and hopefully fun too.
Farm: Tulips, daffodils, hyacinths & more- I’m weird and love planting right now (in soil filled crates) between emails and wedding consultations. Big plans for local blooms coming in hot for 2024!!! Our winter subscription is up on our website- the perfect holiday gift!
While the shop has been closed for a bit, windflower is steadily moving along.
Today was a big day on our little farm. Our tulip bulbs from the arrived. 🌷these are the bulbs for our winter flower subscription- launching on our website this Saturday! It will be 4 weeks of flowers in Jan/Feb- The perfect holiday gift.
We will grow these for January to March blooms if all goes as planned- and yes, January. We are setting a goal of local winter flowers this year. I’m nervous and excited and have a lot of planting ahead of me but I learned so much last year in taking the and with our first round of winter tulips last Feb. I’m feeling as ready as I’ll ever be to give this winter crop a try.

Harvest flowers for Thanksgiving are now available for preorder on our website along with winter wreaths. We strongly request pre-ordering and all designs will be available at our shop on Nov 22nd.
We are offering two color palettes for thanksgiving. First up, shown here in our doodle, Golden Woods- inspired by the vivid golden, brown and greens found at Saugatuck dunes right now. It’s a really textural, natural, wild mix. We can’t wait to bring to life in a few weeks.
Reflections of the last wedding week of our 2023 season.
We had two beautiful weddings in one week, a Thur. pickup & a Sun. delivery.
Our Friday out-of-town wedding was picked up on Thursday by the parents of the groom. We had a few conversations prior about how it would fit in their Subaru and Dad showed up with the most thoughtfully rigged floating shelf to give us options in case we needed more room. It all fit without it but It was truly a sight, a labor of love, could have been a Subaru commercial, tag line and all. Mom and Dad were such a team about it all, the years of marriage shining through this epic project of packing for an out of town wedding. It was really heartwarming and made me think so much about our 2024 pickup packet. The beauty that efficiency and minimalist allows us to experience, if we embrace it, is pretty great.
The next day we started on wedding number two, which was for a dear friend. Mom had offered to bring some big branches from her yard, in the most perfect dark moody colors for us to mix into the ceremony and statement designs. So all the way from the east side, and a very loved garden, came the most epic Japanese Maple. I have never had the luxury of working with such unique and special branches and was pretty intimated on how to honor such a special specimen. You don’t see Japanese maple in the flower markets and certainly not 5ft tall branches. But when your daughter gets married, you share a few branches. It was so special and completely transformed the designs.
The other great thing was, while the designs were very different, they both loved white roses, so we were able to split orders on specialty roses, the shipping & minimums shared- A win for all. Both their totals added up to our weekly booking goal. It all left me thinking about some new 2024 goals with our shop/studio model.
It was a great way to end the season, the beauty of nature, the love from people showing up for their people and unique opportunities that having a storefront brings. Immensely grateful to all our 2023 couples for giving us such great opportunities to flower in different ways this year. Bring on 2024!
Exciting news- we are now open on Wednesdays from 12-5!
Thanks for all the support and enthusiasm this summer, we are excited to roll out some expansions this fall, starting with Wednesdays hours. A big thank you to for being open to taking on an additional day while myself and Kevin keep chipping away at the behind-the-scenes growth and wedding bookings. You’ll be seeing a lot more stems in the shop from Caleb’s gorgeous cutting garden too. See ya tomorrow!
Gearing up to launch our 2024 Weddings & Gathering menu later this month.
But first, a few weeks off to recharge from this summer’s wedding season that has been so good to us.

For us it’s a moment for simple seasonal blooms, friendship and really really good vintage vases. It’s really inspiring adding a few little fresh touches to the booth. This year they stocked an incredible selection of these french green glass canning jars and vintage stoneware vases that are a dream to design in.
We had two lovely “Core Floral” orders go out today to two different couples getting married in Fennville. It’s was great, totally different vibes, lovely clients, great colors, such good product 😍.
We launched our “Core Floral” offerings last fall as an option for couples who want more minimal floral services. Previously we were full service only with a higher minimum, did a lot of travel weddings, it’s feeling right to adjust each year.
Our new shop is opening up a lot of doors and we are listening and taking notes for our new 2024 Wedding, Event and Gathering Menu focused on serving our home base region we love so much.

And if you are wondering how to prep for booking- know your ideal budget, colors/vibes and wish list/counts. We will get you a menu and talk you through it but the goal is for an easy, quick process and all planning done by March.

Harvesting and prepping today for a very fun start to at our new flower shop in Douglas. We grew these in our backyard in Holland, as fresh and local as they get!

Hard to put into words, and a collection of photos of what all this year meant but perhaps sunflowers capture it best. 2023 will be remembered as the year I said yes to a lot of newness, sunflower being one of them, and they perfectly represent all the new joys the shop, daily flowers and community this year brought.
