Rick called code enforcement on Mrs Yvonne because she had a window pane with photos of her dogs in the yard, in between her plants and bushes, the sunlight even reflected the pictures & the leaves were visible through the window panes. He called it “junk” and code enforcement came and asked her to move it because Rick complained about the reflection and said it violated code.

Other neighbors complimented her on her art and knick knacks. He constantly denies them of their right to simply exist.

Jay took a stand against the racist harassment from rick eury that him and his wife have been facing. instead of investigating the harrassment: police charged jay with impeding traffic because he was standing in front of his house in the street demanding they take the harrassment seriously. The myth of the benevolent state in housing policy suggests that governments act primarily to solve social problems, such as the housing crisis, in the best interest of their citizens. This narrative frames housing policies as consistent and well-intentioned, with failures attributed to incompetence, external resistance, or lack of courage rather than structural issues. However, a closer examination reveals that “housing policy” is not a coherent set of actions aimed at addressing housing needs but rather an ideological construct masking a reality that is contradictory. State actions in housing are often shaped by the desire to maintain the existing political and economic order rather than to genuinely address residential oppression!

Both housing policy and projects like Cop City expose the limitations of the state’s claimed benevolence. Instead of centering community needs, state interventions often perpetuate inequities, prioritize economic elites, and suppress dissent!
