Should you hire a wedding planner if there is a venue coordinator?

Absolutely!

Venue coordinators are amazing and certainly have an important role during the wedding planning process and on the wedding day, but their job is to maintain the interests of the venue and not necessarily handle all the ins and outs of your wedding details, vendors, and planning.

The key difference between a wedding planner and a venue coordinator is their relationship with you, the couple getting married! A wedding planner’s focus is on making sure your wants and needs are met, whereas a venue coordinator is focused on ensuring the venue is well-maintained and well-represented.

OK yes, the day is about the two of you and it’s important to select a date and location that is meaningful, but unless you are eloping, you likely want your closest friends and family there to celebrate. So before you go announcing your wedding date and saying yes to a venue, check with your VIPs to make sure the date and location can work for them. Who are your VIPs? These could be:
👉 Parents
👉 Siblings
👉 Best friends you want as your wedding party
👉 Heck maybe it’s even the one photographer you’ve been eying forever and want to make sure they are able to capture your wedding
