Sought + Found is a small business that specializes in the rental of luxury home goods for use by local property stagers and film/tv production teams for their projects, and white-glove local delivery service. Through their rental portal, they offer a wide range of products that fit your clients’ wants and needs.

Together, Richard and Jeff operate the business and bring over 20 years of experience to the design and staging industries. “Our mission is to provide our rental clients with access to high-quality and design-conscious pieces at affordable prices,” Jeff explained in their article.

Under Sought + Found, they have a variety of divisions to meet client needs including, The Staging Guy, Designing Your View (which offers window coverings and interior design), Sought + Found Mercantile (their website where people can purchase the inventory used in their stagings), and Sought + Found Rentals.

So much has happened in the last several months...we finally launched the online store just as the pandemic was setting in the US. Our regular business (both interior design and property staging) were fairly hard hit with the shutdowns and people deciding to stay in place.

After a few months passed, I reached out to the major league rugby team in Atlanta (Rugby ATL) to check if they worked with any small business partners - and it turns out they were very excited to have us come on board as their luxury furniture rental partner.

As folks may, or may not, know, the rugby community is very tight knit and remarkably inclusive. Richard and I decided to make the move to the Atlanta metro area (landing in Marietta, just north of Atlanta) and work to grow the business here.

Moving an 11,000 sq ft warehouse of inventory is not an easy task, especially during a global pandemic; but we are just about done and working to get the new warehouse/office/showroom setup.

Fortunately, we have been able to rely on the rugby team to provide us the manpower to get things setup here and we will also be using the guys for our local deliveries. Very much a win-win situation for the team and for us.

Repurposing or “Up-cycling” is a really cool and creative way to get multiple uses out of things. You've likely seen hundreds of fabulous ideas all over the web on how you can transform old furniture pieces into new treasures - but not everyone has time for heavy duty DIY crafts. I certainly don’t! So instead, I stick with ingenious ways to repurpose items that don’t require too much time or hassle. This kind of creativity is an absolute must for Property Staging (especially when time and inventory are limited) but also great for anyone who wants to change up their home decor with stuff they already have or can find on a budget.

Honestly, most of the décor hacks I've discovered have been by sheer accident (or desperation!) for example: I recently found myself in need of a narrow flower vase, but all I had was a clear glass Sake carafe. Let me tell you, my floral display looked so cute – that carafe will never see the likes of Sake again!

What are some of your "décor hacks” or up-cycling ideas that don’t require too much time, hassle, or a big investment? Here are a few of my faves:

1) Empty candle jars make super chic containers - especially for small house plants!

2) Transform an ordinary bathroom into a luxe retreat by using drapery panels instead of a generic shower curtain.

3) Garden stools used as accent tables add a lot of charm to an otherwise lackluster space. Double them up to create a small coffee table for a small living room.

4) A framed wall mirror can also double as a vanity display tray.

Having a pet can wreak some serious havoc on your interior design game, but the two are not mutually exclusive. You can have a perfectly polished and “put-together” abode that is also pet friendly - you just need know how to design your place with your furry friend in mind.

Being a cat owner, I know from personal experience that cats will lay claim to multiple favorite spots. If you don’t give them a special spot of their own, they will just create one! From dark cave-like spaces (i.e. – a dresser drawer accidentally left open) to the high and out-of-reach places (i.e. – soffits and tops of kitchen cabinets). And good luck finding a proper place to hide a cat box!

Dogs too, pose a décor threat with their innate sleep and play habits - leaving many owners frustrated by unwanted fur, dirt, dander, and chew toys left behind on nice furnishings. So, the question begs, if we don’t want our beloved Fido or Fluffy on our favorite designer pieces, why not buy furniture that’s both fashionable and accommodating to our pets wants and needs? After all, it’s their home too!

For a while now, companies like Ikea, have been manufacturing stylish yet ergonomic beds and feeders inspired by the natural behaviors of our pets. But today’s hottest trend is Designer pet furniture that doubles as home décor! You can find an array of practical and stylish options online - you just have to know where to look. Check out these awesome examples I found on Etsy "fur" inspiration!
