𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟖𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃-𝐃𝐚𝐲

Veterans gathered in Portree this morning in a 6am vigil to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

On 6th June, 1944, tens of thousands of British armed forces personnel landed at Normandy in France as Allied forces carried out the largest amphibious invasion in military history.

Radio Skye was in attendance for the vigil which was led by Thomas Wilson, who served in the 1st Battalion of The Parachute Regiment.
