Hi all! I’m Catriona Whiteford and one of the artists appearing at the Event in Lisbon on the 14th September..

I am really passionate about what One World Events are doing here and I'm sure we can make a positive contribution to the lives of artists in Lisbon as well as the art scene itself!

I work as a curator, artist, writer and educator living and working in London. I work across disciplines in sculpture, photography and text and i have recently produced 'URZE BRANCA', (white heather), launched in Lisbon in July 2019 as a limited edition press. This new work is an assemblage of texts produced throughout a residency at Zaratan - Arte Contemporânea exploring the edges of day residue and mnemonic rupture and my response to living in Lisbon.
I am really looking forward to meeting you all.. So until then take care 🙂

So what makes this event special?
Firstly it is the love and enthusiasm of the people involved..the artists, caterers, the gallery itself and many of the other people involved on the communications side. You know who you are ❤️

It's also about giving a platform to new and vibrant Lisbon connected talent..there is so much here..but it's seldom heard. Cover bands..yes lots who perform their hearts out for little reward..from experience I like how tough this can be.
Original artists are lucky to get a gig at all here.Many go outside the country leaving us the poorer.

So this is the first of many events to bring original work to audiences who can appreciate them and the work it takes to do what they do.

It is also about making sure they get rewarded adequately for their efforts in an attempt to support their work and keep music moving forward. Thank you. And hope to see you there ❤️

ne World Events.
Our mission is to bring original Lisbon based artists to the fore. To support their work by providing a space for artists and musicians to come together with cultured and curious audiences.

Why are we doing this?
Lisbon is full of culture music and history. It also has a burgeoning new talent throughout all of the arts. Music, Poetry and Dance. Much of this however is provided by the artists themselves with the other giving that time for free or for very little recommend. You will hear many cover bands essentially for tourism but the original artists get a little lost sometimes. This is an attempt to support and promote them in this wonderful city.
