From the very first design meeting with my lovely bride, Clare, we had a clear vision — a timeless palette of black, champagne, and ivory.

Clare knew from the start that she and Duncan wanted a simple but quality celebration: good food, great wine, and everything done beautifully, without fuss.

I wanted the design to mirror that — refined but relaxed, understated yet deeply considered. Modern in feel, but with gentle nods to tradition woven throughout.

Working alongside , we created delicate florals that brought warmth and softness to the clean, white backdrop.

We collaborated with on bespoke stationery featuring intricate rose laser cut-outs — a subtle nod to tradition.

The result was a celebration that felt calm, elegant, and genuinely personal — a perfect reflection of Clare & Duncan and their quietly confident style 🤍

From the church and drinks reception, the florals continued to build into one epic moment: the marquee. This was where the English country garden look really came into its own — but with a twist.

We wanted it to feel romantic and abundant, yes, but also fresh, modern and intentional. I was clear from the start that I didn’t want to go down the mismatched pastel glassware route. It needed structure, direction and a bit of punch.

So we worked with contrast: softness and openness in the florals, anchored by colour and boldness in the linens and furniture. We introduced height to fill the marquee — using soft textures, greenery and hessian lobster pots to lift the eye and expand the space.

The glassware choice came from something personal — inspired by Charlotte’s childhood home — adding a layer of familiarity and quiet elegance to each place setting. And the subtle pop of pink in the furniture did exactly what we hoped: it lifted the whole scheme without overpowering it.

In July, I had the joy of bringing Charlotte & Dan’s English country garden wedding to life.
A beautiful weekend, celebrating their love for The Cotswolds.

The flowers were the focus for their church ceremony. and I worked together to design something whimsical and romantic, but still very classic. The church was tiny, which meant we either went incredibly subtle… or leaned in.

We leaned in.

We wanted it to feel like the garden had simply crept inside — soft, loose, and a bit wild, rather than “placed” flowers. And with all of their guests flying in from the US, it felt important that the setting had a real sense of place — something that felt undeniably English rather than just “pretty.”

We also designed the colour to build across the day.
In the church, we kept the palette gentle-
outside of the church (for their confetti moment), the first touches of colour began to appear — just enough to hint at what was coming…

The brief for the final day was simple: pool party — but we wanted it to stand as a celebration in its own right.

We continued the bold colour story, adding bright umbrellas, towels, inflatables and garden games. A DJ with electric violin and sax layered the atmosphere so it felt alive all day, not just “after brunch energy.”

And then — the rain returned. Third day in a row.
So I made the call: It’s Raining Men. Volume up.
Everyone straight into the pool. No hesitation. Just joy. Easily one of my favourite moments of the entire weekend!

The perfect close to three days of celebration:

From the very beginning, Anna & Bill were clear — they wanted wow. Not formal-wow. Not quiet-wow. Just full-of-joy, full-of-colour, full-of-life wow.

When we visited the castle months before the wedding, we walked out onto the sunset terrace and I immediately saw an ombré aisle. It just fit. The space, the view, the feeling of it — it called for colour and movement and a bit of drama. It became the starting point for everything that followed.

We designed their signature graphics right at the beginning. I was very inspired by the Aperol label and that exact sunset we saw that day! The two combined felt so them — playful, warm, a little bit iconic. That design and palette ran through the stationery and the little touches throughout the day.

The ceremony was exactly who they are: bubble guns, tequila, laughter, colour — nothing held back, nothing dialled down. Just joy.

And from there the day kept moving — which is always the aim:
– live musicians guiding guests through each part of the celebration
– artwork created by the guests as the day unfolded
– a feast of local dishes and proper Italian generosity
– the dessert station of all dessert stations
– fireworks over the hills
– and a party that absolutely went all the way

And yes there was a once-in-a-decade storm the entire weekend. We adapted, redesigned, moved, rebuilt—and the celebration never lost its spark. That’s the magic behind the magic 🪄

Inspired by the castle walls and the character of local life, we wanted Anna & Bill’s welcome party to feel like an Italian market square — abundant, textured, and full of energy.

Every detail was designed to engage the senses — the sound of the accordion, the scent of herbs and local dishes, the colours and textures of baskets overflowing with fresh produce. I’ve always believed that when you can hear, smell, see and feel a moment, it stays with you forever — and this evening was exactly that.

There was no formal plan — just good food, good wine, and great company as guests arrived in Italy. The perfect setting for heartfelt speeches, a few brilliant games, and, of course, a spontaneous singalong to That’s Amore! 💫
