Reminiscing more on the early weddings. These two are one of the (many) couples I would happily invite over for dinner to catch up with! I knew from the first email that I would love planning with them and I absolutely did ❤️😭 from planning, to their menu tasting (and being there for the first time their parents meet in person!), the 8am wine tasting, guiding them through a VERY rainy wedding day, a break for photo booth fun during the reception, snuggling their newborn, and the cases and cases of leftover special ordered bud light that graced our liquor cabinet for months post-wedding and always brought a smile to my face. These two are pure light and love, getting to know them and their community is the best part of what I do.

Hiiiiiiiiiii 👋

Happy Friday!!

I am full of wedding post ideas but am struggling to get things from my brain and camera roll to the feed.

The macro and micro of the world is feeling a bit extra “whaaaa the F” but I promise ya, I’m here supporting my couples with planning their celebrations of love, which I like to consider a way to both build and honour communities. Communities are SO important. Possibly the most important?

Thinking of all the couples I’ve gotten to work with and love, in full honestly it’s 98% ask ANY of my coworkers past or present, I want to share more from blasts from the past.

These two were pure joy. Their 2017 Nova Scotia destination wedding was electric and I feel so honoured that I got to be a part of it. Ingrid and I have kept in touch over the years and we randomly ran into each other in the grocery store cereal aisle in December. Which was extra special since she lives in Toronto. There were (several) big hugs, lots of love, and some real philosophical chats while we block folks trying to get their holiday shopping done.

This is it for me, my why, the human connections in this industry are so freaking special.

GRAY WEDDING #3 ✨ Laura & Mike ✨ November 23, 2024

These two have been together since I’ve know the Gray’s and got engaged a couple months before Jon and Katherine’s wedding. To say I was invested in being involved is an understatement. Laura and Mike always knew they wanted to have a low key and intimate celebration but the exact plans went through a few different iterations. There was talks of a summer celebration with a small group and hot dogs to celebrate at a special spot in Ontario and I believe my response was “awesome, I call hot dog duty and we’ll tack on a visit to our family while in the area” - eager much? I was not going to miss out on the opportunity to support this family with all the little things that happen on a wedding no matter the size. The final plans were a late November celebration in Halifax and although the plans were simple and meaningfully I was grateful to have the opportunity to run some wedding errands and support one of my favourite families in setting up dinner for the ceremony at and reception finished up the night by absolutely ripping up the dance floor at . The bonds and relationships I’ve built planning and coordinating wedding is absolutely priceless.

GRAY WEDDING #3 ✨ Jonathan & Katherine ✨ Nov, 19, 2022

By early 2022 I was pregnant again (very exciting, again not the best timing for working in the wedding industry), passing on the torch at Oceanstone, and booking my first full season of weddings with Love Nest. Caitlin reached out to let me know her brother Jon was engaged and would I be interested in helping with his wedding. She hadn’t even finished speaking before I said OBVIOUSLY!! First, I had to meet and win over the incredible and her mom . Needless to say I feel in love with Katherine and her mom immediately and was thrilled when they chose to trust me with the wedding. They had such a special weekend of celebrations with friends and family from near and far joining in. Newest babe joined for the ceremony rehearsal and thankfully I got to fly solo for the welcome party, intimate ceremony and bigger reception to follow. I can still recall in detail Katherine’s sister’s speech, Laura’s hilarious MCing, cleaning up all the confetti at the citadel that Miss. Sophie had a ball playing with and of course the honour of sitting at the family table with my favourite wedding moms Susan and Marlene and the grandmothers. Another Gray wedding with a special place in my heart.

GRAY WEDDING #1 ✨ Caitlin & Chad ✨ Aug 10, 2019

Caitlin and I met in 2017 when she was planning her *first* wedding at (that wedding could use its own post, she truly showed her ability to face any weather issue head on and with absolute grace that day!) and we became fast friends. We had aways joked that I would be there for her wedding day but with a busy wedding schedule at the resort, taking a weekend off never really seemed possible. Thankfully I’m terrible at being a wedding pro and family planning and my maternity leave with my oldest happened to overlap with their wedding date 😍 Bb and I spent the weekend getting to know the whole Gray family and coordinating the heck out of an incredible wedding weekend. Becoming a mother rocks you and I was so grateful for the opportunity to be and do something I both love and was really good at again. There was a brief moment when running the ceremony rehearsal that I completely forgot about the tiny human it was my responsibility to care for and just “did my thing” when I finished and was like “oh, shoot where’s my baby” he was being very carefully strolled around the property by Caitlin’s brother Jon and future brother in-law (spoiler) Mike. We immediately felt like part of the family.

Happy 25th wedding anniversary to my incredible auntie and uncle who gave me the first taste of being a bridesmaid (albeit a junior one!!) at age 12 and who have trusted me to help both of their daughters plan their weddings in the past 5 years.
