OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE PAGEANT DIRECTOR
13 April 2023

Dear everyone,

We would like to apologize for the recent controversy that Bb. Bukidnon is facing. We understand that the photos of the candidates may have appeared daring and provocative to the public and may not have conformed to the traditional tribal type of pageant in honor of the Kaamulan festival. We acknowledge that this has caused disappointment and frustration among those who hold the festival and pageant in high regard.

First and foremost, I, Beatrice Eduave, the Bb. Bukidnon pageant director, together with my production staff, want to clarify that whatever transpired during the photoshoots of Bb. Bukidnon candidates was beyond the knowledge of Governor Oneil Roque, Vice Governor Clive Quio, and Kaamulan Committee Chair RJ Pepito. They had no prior knowledge of the photoshoots and were not involved in any way.

Our intention was never to disrupt or disrespect the cultural traditions of Kaamulan. We understand that the values and customs of the tribes are unique and deserve to be celebrated in a manner that is respectful and dignified.

I and my whole production staff at the B.B. Bukidnon organization would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the recent controversy surrounding our candidates' photoshoots. We understand that the images were perceived as too daring and provocative, and we take full responsibility for the oversight.

We apologize to the candidates as well as to our sponsors, fans, and members of the community who were offended by the images. We assure you that it was not our intention to offend or disrespect anyone, and we will take steps to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

We appreciate the feedback from our supporters and detractors alike, and we will use all comments constructively to improve the organization's policies and procedures. We understand the importance of protecting our candidates' reputations and ensuring that they are represented in the best possible light.

We take full responsibility for the situation, and we promise to take the necessary steps to ensure that this will not happen again in the future. We deeply apologize to everyone who has been affected by this occurrence, and we hope to regain your trust and support.
