The ceremony audio can be tricky business. When there’s 200+ people and you need to hear the officiant, the bride and groom, and a reading from a guest, how do you make sure everyone can be heard and there’s no feedback?
1. Make sure you use high quality equipment. Don’t cheap out on microphones. And come prepared with backups for anything that could fail.
2. Use column array speakers instead of traditional point source. They have much wider coverage and sound incredible. Plus they’re more portable. And using them in stereo allows you to keep levels lower while getting better coverage.
3. Auto feedback suppression is a game changer. It comes built in to most high end speakers or mixers these days. It can help keep your levels up without producing embarrassing feedback. No one wants that on their wedding day.
4. Mic check! Don’t ever skip the mic check. Make sure you have plenty of level, no feedback and your wireless signal isn’t cutting out.
