It is with great pleasure that, following our Newport Shropshire Carnival AGM, I have officially handed over the reigns to the legend and absolute grafter Sir James Prince as Chairman, one of my best friends and the best handyman you need, Steven Charlie as vice chairman and the ever fabulous Cali Michelle Prince as Secretary (and in reality.....the boss!)

The event that has been going for over 50 years, I've been part of for 10 of them and have been working with an amazing team of volunteers

A full day of festive shopping and delicious delights returns to Newport this Saturday at the town’s annual Christmas Market.

Please note information that outlines the traffic management arrangements for the planned Newport Christmas Market.

The traffic management arrangements will commence on Saturday 25th November at 06.00am and finish at 18.00pm along High Street, Lower Bar and St Marys Street, Newport.

The diversion route for vehicular traffic travelling in all directions will be signed on site.

There will also be a temporary suspension of the one-way order along New Street.

No vehicles to be parked on St Mary's Street, Lower Bar or the lower end of High Street for the duration of the closure.

Our Santa Secret Is Out!
For the first time ever, Father Christmas will be in his grotto at Newport Christmas Market!
Come and meet the big man himself, chat to him about your Christmas list and let him know whether you've been naughty or nice.
Open 10.30am to 3pm, find Santa on the Square on Saturday 25th November.
A visit is £5 per child with no pre-booking required but we do expect him to be very busy, so the earlier you arrive, the better the chance of seeing St Nick.

If you've expressed an interest in a stall at this year's Newport Christmas Market, you have been sent our booking form and payment details either via email or on Facebook, depending on how you got in touch. We've also sent it to our regular traders from the Food Frenzy and Carnival, as we always give you first refusal.
PLEASE fill the booking form out asap with your details and make payment, as our spots are filling quickly and we don't want anybody to be disappointed.
New traders are in touch with us daily and we don't want any of our regular stallholders to miss out.
If you haven't had the booking form or email or Facebook but requested it, drop us a message and we'll get it resent asap.

This time around we’ve got a full day of food, drink, treats and gift stalls, plus Santa’s Grotto for the kids to come and meet the big man himself!
***Stall spaces available now but are very much limited and selling out fast.***

Meeting with our fabulous town clerk this afternoon to discuss future events and grants to help boost trade and tourism in Newport!

We're here for the good of the town and bringing people in is what will ultimately keep our town alive. We have loads of event ideas and hold the biggest and best events in town!
