PASSING ON SOME EVENT WORK IF YOU CAN HELP OUT!

~

We're a fabricating company in Portland, OR looking for a partner to install our displays for a quick turnaround event at North Shore Studios in approximately 2 weeks.

Our needs are for skilled installation crew for the set-up and take-down, but not the event planning itself. Please let me know if you'd be able to help out with the basic scope below:

Sunday Nov 10th- 4 person crew/8 hr day to unload & assemble flat-pack furniture, put furniture in place, and assemble/hang retail grids (for displaying clothing) approximately 9ft off the ground

Monday Nov 11th- down for Remembrance Day

Tuesday Nov 12th- 2 people for 4 hrs as contingency for overrun on initial set-up

Wednesday Nov 13th- Event, no crew needed

Thursday Nov 14th- 4 people/4+ hrs to breakdown and load into freight truck

It's been months since I was on here...I was shocked to see that it was 3 months...Been taking care of family matters and doing a bit of traveling.

I am a Woman of Inspiration WINNER! I am just thrilled with this recognition.

The Women of Inspiration Awards Gala was magical and indeed inspiring!

Michael Burns, CEO of Canada's Valour Games and Monica Kretschmer, CEO of Universal Womens Network were terrific co-hosts.

The evening started with a youth-choreographed dance routine by Hannah Isenberg. They were so energetic and vibrant and brought up the energy in the room.

A real special treat for all of us was to be serenaded by Youth Inspirational Award Winner - Roberta Battaglia who graced the stage with her angelic voice, proving why she received the Golden Buzzer on AGT.

Duane D.O. Gibson, a two-time world record-setting rapper worked his magic as he created an on-the-spot rap specially created for the Women of Inspiration Awards.

The highlight for me was an intimate chat with Bobbi Brown and her husband Steven. They talked about the early days of their business and how they managed their working relationship for the past decades. It was a tender, authentic and indeed inspirational conversation between two business moguls. I felt honored to get a peak into her iconic business minds and picked up a few nuggets of inspiration!

Yesterday I enjoyed the day in downtown Toronto seeing the sites and shopping. It was my gift to myself. I felt a little like Bobbi Brown

Bobbi said on Thursday night, she is inspired by the world around her and values her walks. She says on these walks she clears her mind and is open to creativity.

She named her new company Jones Road Beauty when she was driving and came up Jones Road. She liked the name and the company was born.

I saw all sorts of images, designs and colors yesterday and have stored them in the "Bright Ideas" vault for future event creations.

I have been a judge for the Canadian Special Events Magazine Awards for several years now and I can firmly say that this year the calibre and quality of submissions were outstanding!

Although I didn't enter the awards this year due to family commitments, I applaud every submission. The events that I judged were carefully curated, masterful and innovative.

Bravo to the finalists on the list! Thanks to Stacy Wyatt and Jason Koop for creating this platform for us to showcase our work.

Happy International Women's Day to all of the women in my orbit.

Today we hold our heads up high for the incredible work that we do in this world.

Whether we are mothers, nurses, construction workers, business owners, etc. our job is important.

So today I am celebrating us! Really take the time today to enjoy how amazing you are and share this day with others who cherish you.

And to all my fellow event judges, thank you for your contribution to the event industry and to Canadian Special Events Magazine for trusting us with this prestigious honour.

I am extremely grateful that I can give back to a community that has been so good to me for the last 36 years.

BIG SHOUT OUT to Emelle's Catering Ltd. for the delivery this morning on Valentine's Day. Thank you for the cookies. It was so sweet and thoughtful.

I have been planning events for 36 years and in the "olden days" we did this sort of thing. It was a personal way of thanking one another for the business.

Nowadays I rarely see this done, even though I continue with thank you gifts and handwritten cards to clients, event partners and staff.

Thanks to Nicole Petersen and her team for knowing how to make a true impression.

And a long lasting impression I might add.

The Global Events Community (GEC) was formed to provide support and inspiration during the current global pandemic. Our Mission is to offer resources and information for the challenges we face as an industry. We welcome your contributions to our community as we collaborate and engage, to emerge stronger.

In these troubled times where the future is unknown, we wanted to bring the event professionals from all over the world together and hence the Global Events Community was born. The daunting task of looking at dozens of event websites daily to gather current news in our industry was overwhelming. Together now in one solid platform, we can share, bond, gather tips and strategies and rebuild our businesses to come back stronger in the future.
