Sharon Garner has been singing in bands since she was 16! She’s sung in bands ranging from Rock ‘n Roll, Country Swing, Blues, Funk, R&B to Jazz. In the 80’s, Sharon perfromed in the Bay Area with her group “Crosscurrents”, opening for the likes of Joe Satriani, John Lee Ho**er, Peter Rowan, Queen Ida & the Zydeco Band and Bonnie Hayes and the Wild Comb. In the 90’s, Sharon was in the local band “Dyzfunkshun”, playing at the famous Hog Farm Pignic, Caspar Inn, a variety of festivals and performed live on television. In 2005, she began singing jazz & became a member of the “Bob Ayres Swingin’ Boonville Big Band” in 2010. She performed regularly at the Sequoia Room at the North Coast Brewing Company with her jazz trio, “Sharon Garner and the Dorian May Trio”, at the Headlands Coffeehouse with the band “Lounge Noir”, in the Rock band “Soul Survivors” and with local luminaries including John Gilmore, Richard Cooper, Lenny Laks, and Pilar Duran. At the end of Febraury, 2000, she had the honor of being called on to sing with Kim Nalley, Denise Perrier and Tiffany Austin at the “Lady Sings the Blues” concert in Palo Alto.Sharon is currently singing with local band “Deep Pockets” (Tim Cuny, Billy Schieve, Dan Coulson and Jay Costa), “Magnolia”, (Steve Paul, Danny Barca, Pete Gaeley & Tom Rickard), Lounge Noir (Johnny Bush & Billy Schieve) and Sharon Garner & the Lincoln Andrews Trio. She has also performed in St. Louis with her friend Tru Born (Anthony Michael Peterson).
