One bouquet that wasn’t included in my last post, the round up of 2023 bridal bouquets, was this very simple but elegant and “on trend” cymbidium stem, tied with an abundance of black velvet ribbon bows. More of this, please, 2024! 💫

Kaitlyn + Shannon gave me free reign on their wedding floral design; with just a few colours + Pinterest photos for inspiration, every email exchange they would let me know they trusted me, and that is just THE best feeling in the world.

With that level of trust and creative freedom, your floral designer can shine. You’ll find it’s at times like this that they feel truly confident in the designs they plan and create. From the sketches and moodboards right through to selecting ingredients at the markets and knowing where to place them on site. Everything feels intuitive and natural and executed with conviction. It helps us tell your story in the best way we can.

Thank you, Kaitlyn + Shannon, for allowing me to tell yours through the language of flowers, and to for capturing them so perfectly 💫

My beautiful bride, Stephanie, sent me these photos today and I can’t get enough of them! The very first thing Stephanie, Matthew and I agreed on were these gorgeous freestanding {foam free} asymmetrical flower towers. And what an entrance to greet your guests with! I particularly loved the subtle pops of muted burnt orange and pale apricot… those butterfly ranunculas dancing in the breeze and those spray buttons from popping up to say hello! 💫

Thank you for capturing this so beautifully 🙏🏻

As we speed towards December and our last wedding of the year, I’ve been reflecting on our work and some of the ceremonies we’ve had the pleasure and privilege of flowering. As you can see from these images, no two of our weddings are ever the same. As designers, we work tirelessly to create something that reflects the two of you, both as individuals and a couple. If you are a courageous romantic looking to create a space that is unapologetically and unabashedly you, don’t hesitate to get in touch for a consultation. Our 2024 availability is filling up fast with only a few weekends available at the height of the season. Krysta + the team x

For Jemi + Ramon’s Melbourne wedding celebrations at the exquisite , we were tasked with crafting a narrative inspired by Dutch Masters, but with a contemporary flair that resonates with the couple's playful spirit.

Each petal and satin bow is a deliberate stroke, reflecting not just an arrangement but telling their story. Structured fruits with an abundant of elegant bows nod to their discerning style, while an abundance of candlelight infused a sense of romance.

Here at , it's not just about flowers; it's about encapsulating our client’s unique style and the joy that radiates when love meets creativity. 🌸💫

Planning, designing + flowering one of the first weddings to be hosted at after its renovation was an honour, and an experience I will treasure forever. The brief was beyond fun; think, Dutch Masters meets Met Gala meets Studio 54… we had bows, fruit and an abundance of seasonal blooms. We had candlelight and disco balls and incredible music from . I can’t wait to show you more of these beautiful photos from 🙏🏻

Jemi + Ramon, I miss you both! X

23/11/2023

Visiting a local flower farm today evoked a sense of nostalgia, transporting me back to the flower farms of my dear friends in the UK. Surrounded by the budding blooms, I felt a deep connection to both my current Australian surroundings and the memories I have of days spent on my flower farms in England + Wales. From picking flowers for summer vase and bouquet workshops with , to taking the kids there for fresh water swims, picnics, and Easter Egg hunts, as well as rambling around the Welsh hills at ’s patch, swinging from trees, feeding the lambs and resident donkey, not to mention more picnics in Donna’s poly tunnels amongst the poppies and foxgloves...

For a floral designer, staying connected to flower farms and understanding the journey of flowers is crucial. It's not just about creating beautiful arrangements; it's about appreciating the entire lifecycle of the blooms. By forging a connection with flower farms, a designer gains insight into the diverse varieties, seasonal changes, and the dedication involved in cultivation. This understanding allows for more informed, sustainable choices and ensures a genuine appreciation for the labour and care that goes into each blossom. It's about respecting the journey they take from the soil to the vase and infusing that appreciation into every design, creating a more meaningful and authentic floral experience.

Today may have made me a little homesick, but I’ll just have to make sure I get out and amongst the flowers whilst they’re growing, still rooted, a little more often… Thank you for having me, . I can’t wait to be back. Kx

Remembering this incredible day from a year ago; my first editorial shoot for TWO reasons - one, my first since moving to Australia from the UK and two, my first as a floral designer! Clear, consistent communication with our clients is so very important to me. My decade-long span as a multi-award winning global wedding planner certainly helps me guide my floral design clients, from managing their budget, expectations + helping them to get the most from designing a wedding that is unabashedly and unapologetically reflective of them both as individuals and a couple.

This glowing testimonial was utterly beautiful to receive over the weekend. Thank you so much for your kind words, Alicia + Jackson xx

“Krysta is absolutely incredible! From the first call we had I felt we instantly clicked and she totally got my vision! She was so much fun to work with in the lead up to the wedding, super responsive, so creative and just all around such a beautiful person that I was so grateful to be working with. She absolutely NAILED our florals on the wedding day - they were so stunning and everything we could have dreamed for and morel!! I was honestly blown away with how beautiful the whole experience was with Krysta. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so special!”

Thank you for these beautiful words 🙏🏻 I adored working with you. I knew we were the right fit from day one; that colour palette, that entrance! What an honour it has been to get to know you both, your family, and play a small role in your beautiful day ###

💫 Beautiful Stephanie and her gorgeous girls 💫

I was so grateful to Stephanie for placing so much trust in me, especially when it came to these mono-bloom bouquets + giving each girl something different. I wrote a little letter to each girl explaining what each flower represents, from commitment + kindness of the dahlia to the balance + tranquility of the cosmos… everybody adored this little touch!

What would your flower be? Kx

Supporting our local growers and embracing the beauty of nature has never been more fulfilling! This morning, I bought these stunning chrysanthemums from our incredible local growers; not only brightening up the studio but also supporting sustainable, slow floristry.

After having a short chat with Aldo, , this morning, it’s incredible to think about the dedication and hard work that local growers put into nurturing each stem. Every bloom is a true labour of love and a testament to their commitment, just as every design we create is our way of celebrating the diversity of flowers, the stories they carry, and the way in which they tell your story.

And that’s a wrap! 11 years after starting my wedding planning business, 4 years after winning UK National Wedding Planner of the Year, I executed my very last full planning job (part one in the US and part two, here in Australia).

And so, ‘For the Love of Weddings’ is no more; and boy, she went out on a HIGH!! 55 floors high to be exact, at the exquisite . And now, (Floral Artistry + Event Design) has the breathing space to grow creatively and artistically - I can’t wait for this next chapter. Thank you for being the most wonderful clients + Ramon, and to all my wonderful, wonderful clients that came before. Words cannot express how grateful I am to each and every one of you - for the opportunities, the growth, the clients that took me into their hearts and with open arms, into their families.

And here’s to my present + future floral design clients - we are going to make ALL of the magic, baby! This isn’t the end, this is just the beginning xx

When a global pandemic scuppers your weekend-long wedding plans in the Yarra Valley, you’ll be certain that I will give everything I have to make the revised plans better than you could have ever hoped, imagined or wished for. Even if that means;
1) legally being married over Zoom at the height of lockdown - when all of the courthouses in the US were shut, came to our lawful rescue!
2) flying to Washington, D.C. and planning, flowering + delivering 5 epic events in 3 days. From Dolce + Gabbana’s “dolce vita”‘Italia is Love’ styling at to a monochromatic modern minimalism at overlooking the White House + the BLM strip.
3) and finally, traveling interstate over 1,600kms to Melbourne and back to deliver the most vibrant, Dutch Masters-inspired, bacchanalian meets bagatelle-vibes, 5x course degustation dinner overlooking the city on one side and the ocean on the other.

Jemi + Ramon, I truly believe we were always meant to meet. Clients for 4 years, but now friends for life. Thank you for choosing me, for bringing me along for this wild ride, for trusting me with your plans + visions, for inviting me into your lives, families, friendship circles. I love you all very much and wish you ALL of the love, health and happiness. WE DID IT!!!!!! 💫👏🏻🩷

Designing Jemi + Ramon's wedding ceremony at the in Washington, D.C. was a dream come true; a symphony of monochromatic minimalism with single premium blooms in deconstructed vases, elevated on acrylic plinths, set amongst an abundance of candlelight. But wait, for the Australian celebrations we're taking a journey to Melbourne for their reception at Level 55 , where Dutch Masters will inspire our tablescapes. Stay tuned as we continue to tell their story through floral + event design 💫

Here’s some little notes behind what’s inspired me lately. My inspiration is something that’s constantly changing and evolving. My tastes change, sometimes with the seasons, but I think my style remains the same. Or at least, the purpose behind my style. To tell stories through flowers. I’d love to know what inspires your style/designs?

Image 1: I was tasked with creating a vase arrangement based on my favourite painting. A painting of two little girls, very much like my two girls, holding hands as they paddle in the sea.
Image 2: my favourite flowers; mocha lisianthus. A shade I’ve struggled to find grown here in Oz, or sold at the Sydney flower markets. These pictures I found one bunch of once, but haven’t since… I always keep my eyes peeled at every visit.
Image 3: Winnie, with her favourite colours. Her favourite flower is a Bearded Iris, inspired by our lovely ( )
Image 4. Betsy with her favourite palette. Her favourite flower is a chocolate cosmos, for obvious reasons! She’s 9 and is better at reflexing roses than anyone I know!
Image 5: A Cafe au lait dahlia that I grew in my garden in the UK. Gardening was my therapy but out here I’m too scared of small things that bite, so will get mine from instead! Nearly time!
Image 6: When your mum is a florist + your friend, ’s daughter, whose birthday it is, adores sunflowers.
Image 7: Not a flower but… I took this photo at Betsy’s board training at South West Rocks (the Dunghutti country) - I adore everything about the landscape here, from the colours to all of the native flora I’m still getting used to seeing. I feel so completely humbled and privileged to call this country home. We had the most incredible welcome to country during our visit here.

My beautiful Jemi + Ramon. Clients for almost 4 years, friends for life. Following multiple postponements, cancellations and variations to the plans, they made the difficult decision to split their wedding into two celebrations to reduce the pressure on their international guests for overseas travel following the global pandemic. DC took place in August at the exquisite Top of the Hay, , overlooking the White House + BLM strip with an incredible team of vendors, including the imitable .kelly, whom they flew in from the UK. At the end of this month, we’ll be celebrating Part ll, up at Level 55 at the , with to get the party started, and to turn these unforgettable moments into family heirlooms. Bring it on! We’ll be there, of course, planning, styling + flowering with my epic team by my side. Bring it on! Kx
