A humungous heartfelt congratulations to beautiful Carla and Nathan, who tied the knot yesterday at the breathtaking 🌊✨

Their coastal wedding was an absolute vision, filled with soft pastel garden roses, café au lait dahlias, hydrangea and delphinium — the perfect palette for their romantic day in paradise 💕

The weather? Let’s just say Mother Nature gave us a bit of everything! From hailstones and strong winds to blistering heat, it was a true test of the elements. But thanks to meticulous planning, a fabulous team of wedding vendors and a rock-solid weather contingency, we ensured everything went off without a hitch—and those blooms stayed picture-perfect!

As we speed towards Christmas and begin to wrap up 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the year that’s been and reintroduce myself for those of you who are new around here!

I’m Krysta, the heart behind Krysta Smith Floral Artistry. Based in Sydney, I have the privilege of creating luxurious, garden-inspired floral designs and orchestrating unforgettable celebrations for couples and clients who value detail and meaningful experiences.

This year has been nothing short of incredible! From dreamy weddings in the Hunter Valley to elegant city receptions, 2024 brought so many pinch-me moments. I’ve had the honour of collaborating with the most wonderful couples and talented industry partners—and together, we’ve created magic.

And now, as 2025 approaches, I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come. In January, I’m unveiling the rebrand— a blend of timeless English heritage blooms and bold Australian natives. This new chapter will have an elevated, exclusive feel while staying true to the warmth and artistry that’s always been at the core of my work.

The year ahead is already shaping up to be unforgettable, with a calendar full of beautiful weddings and some exciting new projects in the corporate floral world. Whether you’re planning a celebration, dreaming of a show-stopping floral installation, or simply here for a little floral inspiration, I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s chat about the costs of flowers…

All the variables involved when it comes to wedding flowers such as choice of flowers, location, staffing, seasonality etc all impact the cost.

💫 After our quoting and proposal conversations, we begin discussions with growers about availability and pricing. Prices fluctuate with seasons and supply/demand which will impact the actual cost of the flowers you choose. Putting trust into your florist to create your aesthetic rather than being wedded to a particular flower variety allows for creativity to flair and designs beautifully fall into place in natural cohesion.

💫 Having the most inspiring team of skilled designers and freelancers around me, with years and years of skill, passion and love of flowers.

💫 Your venue and their rules around bump in/out also are important to keep in mind. In the day we work quickly around your venue’s schedule, and then bump out late at night or the next day.

Being a wedding florist is truly the most rewarding job in the world and being trusted with your vision on your wedding day makes me feel incredibly lucky 💛

Fun, playful and whimsical but so beautifully elegant - I am utterly obsessed with this colour palette.

Pairing the bouquets with the sunset shades of the bridesmaids dresses brought so much joy, much like the fun loving couple❤️

I love the idea of a rainbow palette and individual dresses for your bridal party not only for the creativity it allows for, but also as it means your bridesmaids can lean into their own personal style and feel beautiful in their own way.

Where do I even begin with this one🤯

What started with an intention of fine art and letting nature speak for itself through light and shadows, was quickly led astray after Paolo Sebastian’s latest collection led me in a different direction.

Sticking with the original concept, we introduced drama and theatrical elements to bring this look together.

Colour palettes //

Choosing a colour palette creates a mood and overall feel of your day, so it is important to carefully make selections to reflect this. Some things to keep in mind are:

👉🏼 You don’t always need to choose a specific colour, it can be a theme or a feel. For Noah and Natalia, this was a ‘jeweled tone” colour palette - which all 150 of the guests also embraced beautifully!

👉🏼 Consider your venue! Of course a marquee wedding is a blank canvas which you can design around your palette, but playing into the feel and tone of your venue will make your day feel cohesive and elevated.

👉🏼 Create a moodboard and see what the correlating factor is between all the elements you are leaning towards. As part of our design process we bring together your Pinterest boards and inspo into a more concise floral blueprint to act as a guideline and help refine your vision.
