I was so fortunate to be a part of this day. This day was extra special because my amazing sister got married. Every wedding we do, the people always feel like family by the end, but this time it was actual family. It was absolutely amazing ♥️

Reminiscing from this past weekend where we celebrated Alexa and Matt! It was such a pleasure to work with this couple and be a part of this perfect day. Can you believe those barn doors were built by the grooms father?! This couple has an incredible community that helped decorate this venue from head to toe! Couldn’t have asked for better people to work with and be surrounded by for the weekend ♥️ wishing a lifetime of love and happiness to Alexa and Matt!

Terrifying. Sadness. Uncertainty. Heartbreaking

Those are just a few words that come to our mind when we think about how COVID-19 has struck our world and shaken everything around us. The thought that any human would have to go through a sickness so awful, such as this virus, is unbearable.

Promoting the safety of the community, our clients, their families and our families is our top priority. Therefore, we have decided to postpone taking any new clients for 2020 services.

It breaks our hearts to have to say no to such a special time in a person's life, but we feel it is the safest choice at this time.

For any couples still moving forward with their events, here are some safety tips we are promoting at our events:

* Limit guest count if possible.
* Require guests to wear masks.
* Optimize space to ensure social distancing (e.g. less people per table).
* Provide hand sanitizer and disinfect common surfaces often!
* Switch to plated dinner rather than buffet or family style serving (avoid sharing serving tongs or passing dishes).
* Ask guests to refrain from coming to the event if they feel unwell or are showing symptoms of COVID-19.
* Check your RSVPs (do your guests feel safe traveling?).
* Avoid large gatherings and crowded areas 2 weeks prior to the event to ensure your safety.
* Keep up to date with the cases in your county or city.
* It is OK to postpone or cancel if you feel like your safety or the safety of your guests are at risk.

We are still taking new clients for 2021 and can also help with postponing plans if needed.

We want to update everyone on how we are offering to help during this stressful time in planning. We pride ourselves in making sure you and your significant other have the wedding of your dreams. We are here to help from day of coordination to full planning.

We know times are tough and anyone who has had to postpone, or is thinking about postponing has already had to spend a lot of money.

We wanted to think of a way to help, so we are discounting all of our prices 25%.

We are so saddened by the effects that COVID-19 has had thus far and will have on couples getting married in the next few months. We want to do something to help out those couples who are stressed and possibly in a tighter financial situation. We have no idea why, but for some reason one of our reviews is no longer visible 🤷‍♀️. The couple was extremely generous to send me a copy of it to post! I assure you this is a 100% real review and we can’t express enough how thankful we are for being able to have been a part of this couples day. Please read their beautiful words below:

“We would recommend Calavera Events to any and everybody! They made our dreams come true (as cheesy as that sounds)! Everybody needs a day of wedding coordinator!

From the moment we met Sara and Sarah we felt warm and welcomed. They know all the ins and outs of the wedding business.

They met with us multiple times before our wedding and they were prompt and over prepared at every meeting with every detail about our day.

They were kind enough to send a detailed list of how to apply for a marriage license, get your name changed and many other helpful wedding checklists. They knew what we needed before we even knew.

We had several vendors that were not getting back to us the week of the wedding! They took the time to call everybody and take the pain away from us. Because of them, all of the vendors showed up at the wedding and they were all amazing!

We wanted our family and friends to be able to enjoy our wedding day without having to help out and be running around and stressing themselves out. Sara and Sarah made that possible.

We were very laissez faire about our wedding day, probably to a fault, but Sara and Sarah took everything in stride and exceeded our expectations.

We had multiple boxes of wedding decorations and flowers sent to our venue and they organized everything into a beautiful array with little to no direction. They made our vision a reality and made everything better than we could have ever done ourselves.

Sara and Sarah were kind and thorough throughout the whole process. We are overjoyed at how everything turned out, we couldn’t have been any happier. They handled everything perfectly on our wedding day!

Sara and Sarah were not just our day of wedding coordinators, they were our cheerleaders, vendor coordinators, florist, waitstaff help, linen director, and they were our everything! They went above and beyond anything we could have ever expected!

They made our wedding day, the best day of our lives!”

Anyone still looking for a venue? Were you part of the unfortunate event that happened to Noah's? We have an option for you!

Today we had to honor of being a vendor at a bridal show hosted by Pecatonica Tap House in Warren, IL (right on the border). This venue is GORGEOUS!

The venue is newly renovated and the staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating.

We had such a fantastic experience that we wanted to share it with anyone still on the search for a venue.

They have openings for this year and their prices are great, so anyone who has to last minute switch this is a great place to check out! You will not be disappointed.

Also, to all the couples who lost their venue due to Noah's situation, please reach out if we can help alleviate the stress in any way! 🥰
