A stunning gown ready for the big day. 💍 Here are some top tips for choosing and caring for your wedding gown:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Start Early- Begin shopping for your gown 9 months before the wedding to allow time for fittings.
2. Set a Budget -Know your budget, including the cost of alterations, accessories, and cleaning.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Consider Your Venue and Theme -Choose a gown that complements your wedding location. A beach wedding may call for a lighter, more breathable fabric, while an estate wedding may suit something more formal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Focus on Fit, Not Size -Bridal sizing can vary, so concentrate on how the gown fits your body rather than the number on the tag.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Go with Comfort -Ensure that you can move comfortably in your gown for walking, dancing, and sitting. You’ll be wearing it for several hours!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Trust Your Instincts -Pick a gown that makes you feel beautiful and confident, not just one that follows current trends.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. Schedule a Fitting -Have a fitting to ensure a perfect fit, especially as your wedding day approaches.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8. Protect Your Gown -Store your gown in a breathable garment bag. Make arrangements for professional cleaning post-wedding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
9. Bring Accessories to Fittings - Bring your shoes, underwear, and any accessories like veils or jewelry to fittings to ensure everything works together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
10. Follow the dress makers instructions - follow the dress makers steaming or ironing instruction prior to the big day.
❤️ Bonus tip- If you are getting ready at a hotel do not hang your dress on the hotel room emergency sprinkler system on the ceiling. I have experienced first hand being evacuated from a hotel in LA when a bride did this & it set off the whole sprinkler system on that floor.
