KAI ARAWN vs HAMMERHEAD SMITH Jr

Unfortunately, Stockport Plaza Champion Rob Valentine has had to pull out of the show following emergency surgery for an Appendicitis. Rob is disappointed he cannot defend his title, but he will need time to recover and he’s asked us to reassure his fans, “When I return to full fitness, I’ll be back !”

Manchester based wrestler Kai Arawn will now make his debut at the Stockport Plaza in singles competition against Bristol based heavyweight Hammerhead Smith Jr.

Hammerhead Smith, a second-generation wrestler, is a hard hitting and ruthless competitor who has chalked up numerous victories across the UK while showing his contempt for the audience and his opponents. By contrast, Kai Arawn is known for pushing his body to the limits for the entertainment of the fans and displaying an unflinching determination to win, even in the face of the toughest opponents.

That determination will certainly be tested to the limit by the experienced and cunning Smith who, disappointed at missing out on his Championship match, has vowed to take out his frustration on his opponent and send a message to Rob Valentine of what to expect when he returns.

TOMMY ROCKER & ALEX VAUGHAN vs JORDAN SPARKES & JOE BLAZR

At the last show Tommy Rocker scored a controversial victory over Joe Blazr with the help of Mr Williams at Ringside. Stockport Plaza management have agreed to Joe Blazr’s request for a rematch with Rocker, but this time they will face off in tag team action.

Partnering Tommy Rocker will be Alex Vaughan, from Newbridge, Caerphilly. Vaughan is a wrestler of tremendous ability but has adopted a disdainful and superior attitude towards the fans and his opponents. He may not be popular, but his victorious debut at the last Plaza show proves he knows how to get results.

Joe Blazr will be teaming with the charismatic Jordan Sparkes, who has been enjoying tag team success around the country with his regular tag partner, Toby St John, as ‘the Blockbusters.’ Blazr will be hoping that Sparkes’ tag team experience will help him get the payback he seeks, but will it be enough against the devious tactics of Rocker and Vaughan?

JONNY BLAZE vs AXEL CARTER

Bristol based wrestler Axel Carter makes his debut at the Stockport Plaza in singles competition against the tough and tenacious Jonny Blaze from North Wales.

Axel Carter is a very experienced wrestler having established an impressive reputation over many years wrestling for some of the top promotions around the country. He will be keen to pick up the win on his Stockport Plaza debut.

The equally experienced Jonny Blaze is no stranger to the Stockport Plaza. While not always popular with audiences due to his tendency to bend the rules, there is no denying his considerable strength, impressive technical skill and ruthlessness when it comes to seeking victory.

This is certain to be an intense contest between two very evenly matched wrestlers of similar size and skillset, which could go either way.

ANDY KNOXX & JORDAN KANE vs ALFIE BROOKS & LEON CAGE

Jordan ‘PrimeTime’ Kane makes his debut at the Stockport Plaza teaming up with ‘The Raver’ Andy Knoxx against the team of Alfie Brooks & Leon Cage.

Originally from London, Jordan Kane has more recently been making an impression in rings in Preston and across the North West region, where many opponents have found Kane’s combination of power and agility hard to handle. Combining forces with the brash, self-assured, and technically skilled Andy Knoxx creates a formidable team who will be very difficult to beat.

The opposing team of Flint based Alfie Brooks and Leon Cage, from Neath near Port Talbot, are both talented young wrestlers who are popular with audiences because of their ability, and because they respect the rules, their opponents, and the fans.

ELANO STONE vs BILLY O’KEEFE

Elano Stone makes his debut at the Stockport Plaza in singles competition against Billy O’Keefe.

At the last show Mr Williams was left fuming after Billy O’Keefe scored an impressive victory over his A* Student Ryden Ockerby. Following the show, Mr Williams demanded an opportunity to field another opponent against O’Keefe and Stockport Plaza Management agreed. Mr Williams has chosen the tough and skilled Elano Stone, who is known for his ability to get the job done by any means required.

The presence of Mr Williams at ringside will be a factor in this match. Billy O’Keefe will need to keep his eyes on both his opponent and Mr Williams. Can the streetwise ‘anarchist’ from Leeds once again overcome the odds, or will the numbers game be too much?

EJ WALSH vs YOUNG HORUS

EJ Walsh, the heavyweight bruiser from Runcorn returns to the Stockport Plaza taking on the ‘Egyptian Underdog’ Young Horus on his Stockport Plaza debut.

The size difference between the two competitors makes this an intriguing ‘catchweight’ contest reminiscent of the kind seen on ITV’s World of Sport, where the lighter wrestler seeks to overcome the odds against a bigger and heavier rival.

Young Horus has been making an impression in wrestling rings across the Yorkshire region and is accustomed to squaring off against bigger opponents, but against the tenacious and ruthless EJ Walsh, the giant killer will have to be at the top of his game if he is to have any chance of making his Stockport Plaza debut a winning one.

RYDEN OCKERBY vs JOSH GALLAGHER

Ryden Ockerby, the A* student of Mr Williams, returns to the Stockport Plaza and will be looking to return to winning ways in singles action against Josh Gallagher.

While not popular with the Plaza fans, Ryden Ockerby is undeniably a wrestler of talent and ability, and the influence of the Plaza’s most infamous teacher has been a significant factor in his success. However, at the last show the teacher and student failed to get their act together and it was his opponent, Billy O’Keefe, who picked up an impressive win.

Liverpool based wrestler Josh Gallagher enjoyed a victorious debut at the last show in tag team action, and is keen to chalk up his first win in singles competition. He is certain to have the audience behind him as he faces the wrestler they call “Teacher’s Pet” but he will need to keep his eyes on both his opponent, and his mentor, as Mr Williams looks to put the A* student back at the top of the class.

Fan favourite and Stockport Plaza Champion Rob Valentine defends his title against Bristol based heavyweight Hammerhead Smith Jr.

Hammerhead Smith, a second-generation wrestler, is a hard hitting and ruthless competitor who has chalked up numerous victories across the UK while showing his contempt for the audience and his opponents.

Both men have a bitter personal rivalry dating back to the time they were tag team partners and Smith turned on Valentine, attacking and betraying him. The Champ does not forget or forgive such treachery, and jumped at the chance of defending his title against his former tag partner.

Will this contest give Rob Valentine the opportunity for some long-awaited payback, or will the experienced and cunning Hammerhead Smith add the Plaza Championship to his already impressive list of accolades.

TOMMY ROCKER vs JOE BLAZR
STOCKPORT PLAZA - SATURDAY 14TH OCTOBER AT 6.30PM

Yorkshire based wrestler Tommy Rocker takes on the charismatic and ever popular Joe Blazr in singles competition.

It’s been a few years since Tommy Rocker last appeared at the Plaza, and on that occasion, he did not endear himself to the Plaza fans with his arrogant and self-assured manner. The ‘mean and moody’ Rocker is an experienced ring veteran who can back up his confident boasts with technical skill and the strength and power that comes from the many hours spent in the gym.

Joe Blazr’s personality could not be a greater contrast to his opponent. Joe’s positive and likeable nature wins over fans and supporters wherever he goes, and there can be no doubting his popularity. In the ring, Blazr has earned the reputation as a quick and shrewd opponent and has scored some impressive victories over much bigger rivals.

“The Pl***oy Prince of Professional Wrestling” Lance Revera will team up with Runcorn based heavyweight EJ Walsh to take on the team of Josh Gallagher and Billy O’Keefe.

Birkenhead wrestler Josh Gallagher makes his debut at the Stockport Plaza and, with his original tag team partner sidelined through injury, he has turned to Billy O’Keefe, who is more than happy to step in and help the rookie Gallagher square off against the two rule breaking veterans.

At the last show EJ Walsh lost his debut match to Billy O’Keefe, and he will be keen to take this opportunity to extract some revenge. The Pl***oy Prince, Lance Revera, will also be looking to bounce back after losing his tag match on the last show to the Billington Bulldogs, and will see victory as a key step on the road back to winning ways.

Will Revera and Walsh’s experience, guile and cunning deliver that victory, or will O’Keefe and Gallagher’s speed and agility prevail ?

Ryden Ockerby, the A* student of Mr Williams, and fan favourite Billy O’Keefe, both return to the Stockport Plaza to compete in singles action.

Ryden Ockerby is undeniably a wrestler of talent and ability, but the influence of the Plaza’s most infamous teacher has seen him develop an arrogance that does not endear him to the fans. Devon based Toby St John, along with his tag partner, Plymouth based Jordan Sparkes, are well known in wrestling rings across the south west of England. Having just returned from a 3-month stint in Tennessee, USA wrestling and training at the prestigious Jacobs-Prichard Wrestling Academy, the popular young heavyweights have said they want the best challenges and the best opponents.

Jonny Blaze and ‘The Raver’ Andy Knoxx, will certainly provide the Blockbusters with that tough challenge. Jonny Blaze, not always popular with fans due to his tendency to bend the rules, and the brash, self-assured, and technically skilled Andy Knoxx, both share a ruthlessness when it comes to seeking victory.

ALEX VAUGHAN VS LEON CAGE

Two South Wales wrestlers make their debut at the Plaza when Leon Cage takes on Alex Vaughan in a match that is certain to entertain.

Leon Cage, who is just 16 years old, from Neath near Port Talbot has been impressing fans and promoters with his passion and tenacity while facing larger and more experienced opponents. With great ability and a ‘never give up’ attitude, the likeable teenage sensation has won the hearts and minds of wrestling fans right across the South Wales region.

Alex Vaughan, from Newbridge, Caerphilly, is another young Welsh wrestler with tremendous ability and a great future ahead of him in the wrestling business. But unlike Leon, his obvious talent has resulted in him adopting a disdainful and superior attitude towards the fans and his opponents. He may not be popular, but his recent victories prove he knows how to get the job done.

ROB VALENTINE VS STEVE SAVAGE
STOCKPORT PLAZA - SATURDAY 14TH OCTOBER AT 6.30PM

Stockport Plaza Champion Rob Valentine returns to action. At the last show Rob promised the fans he would do absolutely everything in his power to train, to work hard, to rest up and to get back to defend his Stockport Plaza Championship.

Rob’s challenger, from Limerick in the Republic of Ireland, is Steve Savage. This hard-hitting bruiser is a tough and ruthless rule breaker who has chalked up many victories across the Republic of Ireland and the UK.

Valentine and Savage have wrestled once before in Oct 2022. On that occasion it was Steve Savage who picked up the win, by dubious means, much to Rob’s annoyance. The champ has been looking for an opportunity to set the record straight, and jumped at the chance of defending his title against Savage.

But with Rob sidelined throughout 2023, it will be Savage who has the momentum, and this international heavyweight contest for the Stockport Plaza Championship could go either way.
