PRE RACE INFORMATION: SingleTrack Fat THIS SUNDAY!
Good morning racers,
Thanks for signing up and planning to join us for this weekend! I'm stoked to get this race series started on Sunday.
The important details first:
RACE START: SUNDAY @ 10AM
ADDRESS: 990 Lightstone Lane, Sugar Grove, WV 26815
THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AT THE VENUE. LOOK AT A MAP AND HAVE DIRECTIONS LOADED UP/PLANNED OUT AHEAD OF TIME. Once you are there, there's wifi.
There are a lot of trails at the farm, there is camping, there is a community center to stay warm/hang out in, there are two small off-grid cabins to rent, and there is going to be food available to purchase from their cafe all weekend. The weather looks like we'll freeze up Saturday Night and get snow on Sunday, which is super exciting! With precipitation falling, we've got a massive bon fire that we'll light up this weekend. I'll be there marking the course all tomorrow morning, and we'll plan a group ride around 2:30pm.
Yes, there is day of registration available, so bring your friends.
The Race Course:
We've got three laps of a four mile course on tap. We've got a fair amount of single track with wider connectors to string together a tour of the lower trails on the property, expect some natural single track, some access road, and some flow trail. There's a medium amount of climbing each lap. There are two small water crossings, but I'll cobble together some temporary bridges so you don't have to get wet brakes.
You can leave coolers/feed supplies out between your laps at the start/finish area.
Food Menu:
Saturday Night
Hand tossed 10 inch pizza
options:
cheese & basil
sausage & pepperoni
meat & veg
veggie
optional side salad
Sunday:
Breakfast burritos: bacon, egg, cheese, potato, veggies
Bottomless cups of drip coffee : )
Sunday post race:
Brats
Italian sausage
hot dogs
toppings: Chili, kraut, peppers and onions
chips
salad
Series Info:
As far as the series goes, you do not need to register for the series to be counted. The series registration (which is now closed) was a way to save some $$ and sign up for all the races at once. The best 4 out of 5 races count for the series, but you don't have to do four to count. We simplified things this year with just 4 categories in one xc length distance across all races. Being such a small series, we pool all of our prizes for the last race of the series, but give classy little homemade awards for the each of the races.
Drive safe, and I'll see you this weekend!
