Parcels are Jess / DJ Jebby’s second favourite band. She reckons that they’re hugely talented and this record is a fab reflection of that. This live album showcases versatility and an ability to play their own songs in a way that creates a new and different atmosphere. Definitely a bop.

Fair warning, be careful asking her about her first favourite band (*cough* *cough*) Once you get her started she’ll gush about them for hours!

Do you like Japanese City Pop? Jeb sure does!

Pacific Breeze is a really well curated series of Japanese city pop, a great snapshot into music that was barely heard outside of its home country until the Light In The Attic label started digging through the archives and compiling these releases. The cover art of Hiroshi Nagai captures the vibe of the music inside so perfectly!

LONG WEEKEND DEBRIEF No. 1.

Our long weekend arrived with a bang with DATE WITH THE NIGHT at La La La’s on Thursday. Johnny B started strong with some tasty indie bangers, Jeb won MVB when he dropped Heart It Races, Sean & Fi rolled it back to the 90s with all the best Madchester sounds, Chels kicked it up a notch with with some spicy remixes of some old faves, Jimmy surprised no one by serving up hit after hit and Catman closed it out with a set full of energy and fun. Overall, a fu***ng killer night and we can’t wait to do it all again!

🐣 LONG WEEKEND PARTY 🐰

The Sultans are taking over Coledale RSL all day this Saturday for another BLOCK PARTY.

There’ll be vinyl DJs spinning party jams for everyone outside on the lawn and deck from noon until late.

Inside, there’s a record fair with a range of vendors including Franks Wild Years, Music Farmers and Third Eye Stimuli.

Rosso Pepe are gonna be around cooking up tasty Italian food and of course there’ll be plenty of cold schooners flowing.

Also, it’s FREE and it’s FAMILY FRIENDLY!

💥ATTENTION💥 we’re having another BLOCK PARTY!

This time it’s the northern suburbs turn for an afternoon of cold drinks and flaming hot DJs.

The Sultans crew will be taking turns spinning whatever they damn well please, which always results in only the tastiest tunes!

There’ll also be a record stall so you can get into vinyl too.

It all kicks off at noon at Coledale RSL. It’s free, it’s all ages and it’s a long weekend! Couldn’t get any better!

We are stoked to have four incredible female artists displaying and selling prints at Women on Wax tomorrow night at Lalalas!! We also have the wonderful VanQ vintage showcasing and selling some funky goodies!!

Chloe Abrahim is a tattoo artist working at High Hopes Tattoo in Wollongong focusing on traditional styles
Kelly Veljanovski is a tattoo artist and working at High Hopes Tattoo in Wollongong focusing on fine line styles.
Alana Cappetta is an artist/illustrator based in Sydney who specialises in the relationship between lines shapes and colour and how this evokes emotion.
Erin Hodgkin is an artist based in Wollongong who works primarily with oil, pastels and acrylic paints.

💋 We love Chelsey Dagger! She’s the architect of our WOMEN ON WAX event happening at Lalalas this Saturday. She’s making the Wollongong music scene more inclusive one event after another, so if you see her there, buy her a beer.

Women on Wax is a party with a pure lady lineup playing fem anthems on vinyl all night long. There’s also a workshop for aspiring female vinyl DJs beforehand too. It’s gonna be awesome.

🎶From 5-8 PM at come along and join some of the ladies of Sultans of Spin to learn and share some skills!

👯‍♀️This workshop is open to all women regardless of experience in DJing, age, cultural background, sexuality, cisgender and transgender women as well as anyone non-binary who resonates with the experience of being a woman and is comfortable in such a space. Due to the licensing of the venue, this event is for ages 18+.

Please inform us of any physical accessibility requirements, as the La La La's band room is upstairs.

So, whether an absolute beginner or seasoned digital DJ, come along and spin some records with us.

Sultans veteran DJ Genie has been on hiatus making wine, but she’s making a special appearance at our extra special International Women’s Day event: WOMEN ON WAX!

It’s all female DJs playing your favourite fem anthems all night! The dance floor kicks off at 8pm.

There’s also a judgement free ladies only workshop for aspiring vinyl DJs, which kicks off at 5pm.
