Sound practitioner along with , and will present Embo Ethongweni, which speaks of the duality of existence within the physical dimension ‘Embo’ and the spi-ritual dimension ‘Ethongweni’. 

Embo Ethongweni is therefore interested in portraying the idea of rooting oneself in space and time, through sonic vibration, to the foundations of our existence. Whilst simultaneously using sonic vibrations to connect to the eternal nature of the spiritual plane in African cosmology.

This sound exploration uses a blend of African indigenous instrumentation, musicology, and knowledge - whilst also exploring the electronic scene of afro – indie, afro-folk, world, classical African and African fusion.

The collaborators are on a journey and the wish also to return ‘Embo and Ethongweni’ in this lifetime.

🚀❤️‍🔥🚀 Intense musical collaboration of multi-instrumentalists Sibusile Xaba from South Africa and Belgian-Ghanaian Esinam Dogbatse in Berlin on 31 May.

Zulu guitar virtuoso Sibusile Xaba from the KwaZulu midlands carries forth the Maskandi tradition of his place of birth and combines his wonderfully skilled guitar play with his expressive warrior chants. Esinam Dogbatse's soulful voice is intermixed with traditional African percussion, electronic influences, sensitive melodies and flute improvisations.

The Bizarre Festival was born during the COVID-19 pandemic at a moment when restrictions were being eased and it was finally possible to play in front of an audience again.
