THE BOUQUET It is the bouquet that takes a woman in a beautiful dress to a bride ready to walk down the aisle and make her vows. When Emma first shared her ideas with me she talked about ranunculus and peonies which are beautiful but out of season in July! To achieve a look sympathetic to these flowers I used beautiful layered Romantic Antike roses, Kahala roses and ruffly carnations in earthy tones. I had planned to use chocolate cosmos to give contrast and movement but the British Summer wasn't playing ball and only one had flowered in my garden, so instead I used sanguisorba which complimented the colours beautifully. Along with lots of other locally grown flowers and lovely velvet ribbon, it all came together to make a really pretty bouquet.

MILK CHURNS These are a popular way to dress a venue. They have the advantage of being a statement piece that can frame an entrance or the front of the ceremony but are also relatively easy transport to a reception venue so offer really good value. For this wedding 4 churns were used at the entrance and front of the church in Brighton and then transported up the A23 to Balcombe to the reception venue. They looked lovely in both.

This really was a special one! Beautiful Emma, my daughter’s best friend got married to Sam yesterday It was a completely joyous day and I feel so privileged to have been asked to be their wedding florist. Don’t they look so happy?! I will post a few more pics soon but here are a couple to get started!

I loved making this bouquet for my best friend’s 50th birthday. We have been through the highest highs and the lowest lows in our lives and shared it all and through it all our friendship has been a constant source of giggles, daft moments, deep conversations and strength to carry on. This bouquet has many symbols of our friendship; The roses are ‘Classy Alison’ because she is. Eucalyptus - a reminder of our travels in Australia thirty years ago Protea (blushing bride)- tomorrow is her wedding anniversary and she has a strong affinity to South Africa. Dahlia- commitment Zinnias - Everlasting Friendship 38 years and counting!
