A wee elopement cake for and her love who ran away to the highlands last week to tie the knot 💙

Hayley and I took inspiration from the artwork of one of Scotland’s most admired artists, Joan Eardley, for the colour palette which I then finished in my signature ’Acrylic’ style — swipe through to see the original artwork 👉🏼 (‘Harvest’ [1961] / ‘Field of Barley by the Sea’ [1962]) and more filthy textures!

Inside is one of my more unusual flavour combinations, Matcha and Mango cake: Matcha and Vanilla sponge, Mango Ganache, and Matcha Streusel 🍵 🥭

Hayley & Matt, I hope your elopement was as dreamy as it sounded and thank you for letting me be a part of it! Love and hugs to you both 💙

Okay before I talk about the cake, can we all just take a moment to please appreciate the FLOWERS!? Huge shout out to the .flowers team because they were phenomenal 👏🏼 💐

My beauties Carole & Calum tied the knot at the delicious Hopetoun House on Saturday. At our design meeting, we dreamt up a 360° white-on-white textured brushstroke design with accents of burgundy and mauve as the cake was to sit pride of place in the centre of the (incredibly opulent) dining hall — et voilà, here she is and I am SOLD on this idea ✨ 🤍

I also had the greatest pleasure working alongside the formidable team on this wedding. They organised everything with the utmost care and attention to detail and the results of their hard work and commitment to their job really showed on the day. Big love to you guys 💙

A D D I S O N — S C O T T

I must have spent about 10 minutes GAWPING at this venue when I first walked in the door!

This is Gosford House’s Marble Hall where the lovely Anna and Jamie married yesterday. Isn’t it absolutely breathtaking?

I loved working on this cake design with Anna and Jamie. A single blue-green textured brush stroke accented with flecks of rich gold. I particularly love the juxtaposition of this contemporary design against the neoclassical interior of the Marble Hall.

Two delicious flavours inside: Lemon and Almond cake with lemon ganache and toasted almond streusel; and Coffee and Cardamom cake with coffee ganache and cardamom streusel.

COUPLE’S CAKE

Do you know any friends who have got married and didn’t get a chance to eat any of their own wedding cake?

I do, so as part of my Bespoke Wedding Cake service, all of my couples receive their very own ‘Couple’s Cake’.

A nod to the tradition of saving top tiers for the first anniversary, my Couple’s Cake is an additional miniature sharing cake made just for my couples to enjoy when they can steal a private moment away together, or perhaps to save to enjoy whilst looking back over wedding photos.

Either way, it’s a little way of ensuring that whatever happens on your wedding day, you don’t miss out on the cake we’ve worked so hard to design together.

CZULOWSCY–BURNS

My goodness, where do I even begin?

India and John, you guys were an absolute DREAM to work with! I mean just look at them 😍

I always consider myself extremely lucky to work with creative couples who share my penchant for creative, contemporary cake design, and from the moment I met India and John at our consultation we just ‘clicked’.

Taking their architectural backgrounds as inspiration, we envisaged the most daring (not to say the largest) project to date: a four-tier black and white square cake. Yes you read that right… a 23” tall black and white wedding cake! What a bold statement for an even bolder couple!

India and John really wanted their cake to be a significant part of their day, and so they didn’t just stop with a striking design; they held a ‘Whisky and Cake Tasting’ for their guests, too! 🥃 🍰

Everyone got to enjoy the three different wedding cake flavours alongside five different Islay whiskies taken from India & John’s 2020 trip to the Isle of Islay where John proposed! I mean… how amazing is that!? 🤌🏼 Swipe through to see the gorgeous map India designed with all the tasting notes on 👉🏼

The most incredible team came together to make this wedding the design-led dream that it was:
